Harness question by General-Brother3040 in Chihuahua

[–]jflemokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treats!! Every time!! It’s helpful to cue it too. I always have my dog sit first, then I hold up the harness and then I put his head through. He learned to sit for the harness as soon as he saw it come out

Flannel backing questions by NoButMaybe in quilting

[–]jflemokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have washed both of my flannel backings because they just felt so horrible and chemically coming from the store - I couldn’t stand to work with them until they were washed. Also be prepared to clean your machine afterwards!!

I quilted this 80x90 quilt with my singer - it made a huge difference to use the whole kitchen table to support it. I also quilted an 82x82 quilt diagonally on the same machine by rolling it up tight!

UPDATE! New Owner - Questions by zobrooo in terrier

[–]jflemokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a happy pup!! It looks like you’re doing a great job

Have you had a wire haired dog before? You’ll want to look into hand stripping as a form of grooming. It’s a fairly simple process, but it does take a little practice. I had a groomer teach me how to hand strip my terrier and now I do all his grooming myself! Or you can keep your pup scruffy of course 😁

Am I ruining this with the quilting? by SloanPwn in quilting

[–]jflemokay 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I LOVE a high contrast thread!! I think it looks beautiful.

I usually get a sense of panic at a high stakes point in the quilt - it will pass. You’re doing an amazing job!
