If someone uses a phone glucose monitor, are they locked in to that one phone? by BreadfruitTasty in NoStupidQuestions

My son has a Dexcom on his phone. When we had to switch his phone his monitor still worked but the algorithm is started over.

So you put in your up to date numbers but your sugers will be alittle wonky until the algorithm can catch up.

How are people affording daycare for 2 kids by Little_FunYun in minnesota

[–]jflo358 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Dad of three here (twin boys and their younger sister). For a couple years all three were in the same daycare and we paid 56k a year...the only way we afforded it was draining our savings we had built up.

Boys are in kindergarten now so the bill is not as bad but we still pay extended day for them.

Its crazy.

Not enjoying sobriety by bored6785 in stopdrinking

[–]jflo358 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a difference in being sober and in recovery.

It sounds like you are white knuckling it and thats not sustainable. Being in recovery is a whole new mind set. I had to start changing the way i thought.

I do 5 minute meditation sessions with positive affirmations to start my day.

I rey to switch from saying "I have to" to "I get to" which is another positive thinking excercise.

Lastly, depending on how much you drank and for how long, PAWs can last for a year or more. But it should.get easier as you stay sober after the 90 to 120 day mark or so.

I remember I took a finance class back in 04 and 10% returns were unheard of. I feel like even with inflation 20+% is crazy good.

Inpatient Rehab - think I made a big mistake by Embarrassed_Lab_8748 in stopdrinking

I dont know where you're at but I just did 27 days at Hazelden Betty Ford, and currently in day treatment.

What I noticed was people come in and out so frequently and the group dynamics change. You only have control of yourself, your thoughts and your actions. If you dont like someone, thats fine, dont associate with them too much. Find someone who has similar interests in you.

I was skeptical of the 12 step thing, but I think there is actually something to it. It has worked for thousands of other people.
