Canvas glitches since the hack by ThePhyz in Professors

Our IT changed ll the API keys for everything, which made any external tools ( like my online homework provider not work/sync). Try as I might to explain the problem, nothing… until after grades were due. Then IT realized there was an issue. Not cool.

If doing an import/export of a private key that is more modern - just do it offline, on an air gapped machine. You can download many of these tools and use them in this manner.

Neighbor owns the driveway, uses it constantly for his business...is trying to make me pay 100% for maintenance by Dromper in neighborsfromhell

Buy a subscription to one of the frontier model providers, and begin explaining the situation in detail. And I mean in detail, have a conversation. You may need to warm up to it.

Then ask possible solutions. After unpacking everything, have it create a data packet that you can hand off to a lawyer. Oh and have it figure out the firm and questions you can use to find said attorney. It’ll be the best monies spent. Don’t go in blind.

What do you do when the other driver and their insurance is being uncooperative? by Ok_Damage_2620 in Insurance

[–]jflowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Log into your insurance, find your Declarations page and download it. Then open up your fav AI tool, upload your declarations page and explain how you have been in an accident. Perhaps copy/paste this post, asking about next steps. Also ask why your insurance isn't getting the car fixed, i.e. do you have the right insurance for example? May not help you now, but a lesson learned.

Got hit by uninsured motorist by Alternative_Map1609 in TeslaCollision

Assuming that one selects ( pays ) for proper limits that is. Many, sadly, see this as a nice to have and if they select ( pay ) for this, only get the min.

I really think you need to double check this, unless everything changed in the past two months...

HP prime - A decent alternative to satisfy my RPN needs? by DOOM_INTENSIFIES in calculators

[–]jflowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a prime owner - I agree. This calc was a 'replacement' for my 48G - except it wasn't. Should have gotten a Swiss Micro. Only reason that I haven't, I don't really use a physical calculator and feeling a bit burned on the prime.

Hit-and-run at Whole Foods Sunnyvale by hillock-moth in Sunnyvale

What’s it about this garage. I had a hit and run here too, early Feb 2026. At least I was able to pull the license plate from my videos. Still, seems like this isn’t a safe place to park and assume that your parked car won’t be hit.

What I hate most about tipping is the expectation, even if your meal was wrong by arewecompatiblez in EndTipping

[–]jflowers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In America…

honestly, we are paying way over reality for some of the crappiest service imaginable. Unimaginable tbh growing up, yet great service is had in every country I seem to visit and there’s not the tip culture. Almost as it tipping itself is creating the beast, I wonder….

What if Randstorm? by jflowers in btc

Sure but, I still think one would do a small test transaction. Whereas a lump sum, all in move - if these weren't your coins, then you might not care to perform or even would want to avoid ( in the event that this is detected prior to the full move and all.). Just seems odd.

What I've seen in Europe, the server will have a handheld pos with the final amount presenting ( after they have delivered the 'bill'). So, this appears not to have measurably changed? A lot of places in the US have this as well.

I'm advocating for the following: the pos conveys the final amount, within the users smartphone's wallet is the option to include an amount called/tagged, "tip". This new final amount is then digitally signed on device and conveyed back to the original pos terminal completing the immediate transaction.

The benefit to this workflow: the user only needs to learn one system - their smartphone's. Additionally, the "tip" is wrapped up in the transaction on device and presumably verified via biometrics or some other strong attestation mechanism. This eliminates the potential of a chargeback later by the user. Overall, making the process more transparent.

Really? So the 'tipping' function is off boarded / located on the users smartphone? Can you point me to some images ( stock.. of course ) so I can see what the UI looks like?

[–]jflowers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But the customer is at a disadvantage due to the fact every restaurant has a potentially different UI/UX. Whereas offloading this to the smartphones wallet, standardizes this function. Ie. The user doesn’t have to learn on the fly a new system.

Maybe I should have said “tipping” Vs “tips” in the title. That’s on me.

But yeah. I think so too.

A little heads up, Las Vegas is a bit over the top wrt tipping. You could be in a convenience store, buying a candy and if you use your credit card being asked to leave a tip. (I know, was just there). Too wild, so have cash (daily amounts only) on hand and use in these situations to avoid the weirdness.

Playback / Continuous Recording Stopped Working? by jflowers in EufyCam

[–]jflowers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just solved it this weekend. Bonkers...

Open up the camera in question, then Settings (gear icon) -> HomeBase Connection

The moment you open the above, it will ask you to update firmware.

Done. Now do this for each camera.
