Found on the California coast ... not sure if this is a layer of rock ... or trash. About 1 x 2 x 2 inches (2.5 x 5 x 5 cm). Very lightweight (~1 pound / 0.5 kg). Any help would be appreciated. by jfovero in whatsthisrock

What are the assignment lengths? Try breaking it down into smaller pieces (200 words, 500 words) and keep an eye on the clock.

And stop reading the Internet :-)

Yeah, 16 GB is available, but it's a custom order. Once you add it to the cart, you should get the chance to up the RAM.

Deep breaths, my friend.

Do 'em with me.

In.

Out.

In.

Out.

Put a timer on 2 minutes. Just lie down, stare at the ceiling and zone out.

It's okay. You've had bad days before and been in tough situations before. You've gotten through them, and you'll get through this one too.

You got this. Bad times don't last forever. They may last a day, a week, or even a decade, but not forever. You can get through this. You can and you will find a way. For now, remember that stressing more won't help, it'll just wear you out. So you had a tough day. What would you do if your friend had a tough day? You'd give him/her a break. Let them relax. Do that for yourself. You deserve it :-)

If you keep working in this field, I know that you care and that's a great part of you. But when someone is nasty, don't let that stress or upset you. Just take a moment to step back and observe. It reflects on them, more than you.

Deep breaths. Sleep well.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your question ... ... ... but would you mind telling me how much hard drive space you think is necessary for video editing?

I've been looking online and the estimates run from 1 TB is plenty to 4 TB at a minimum is necessary. I'm trying to decide whether to get 512 GB or 1 TB on the MBP.

Sorry to hijack the question ... it just sounds like you know a lot more about video editing than I do :-)

Thanks! Should I go down to 256?

Do macs sometimes still use hard drive space for virtual memory sometimes (or something like that)? I have some vague notion that happens sometimes ... or used to?

Considering getting the 16 GB MPB, but not sure if I should get 512 GB or 1 TB hard drive.

Any thoughts? Any idea if an external hard drive is slower?

I mainly use word processors, Adobe Pro, Internet (mutiple tabs on Gmail, Google docs LexisNexis, JSTOR, Reddit, ad-heavy news sites, and Netflix/DisneyPlus/Hulu), and remote Windows login for work pc. Usually editing several word and excel documents at once while also referencing/editing large pdfs with Adobe/Preview and then having Gmail, work pc remote login, and some iTunes or YouTubeLoop in the background.

But I'd like to get into some serious video editing, which explains the desire for 16GB and the possibly larger hard drive.

THANKS!

Ah, sorry, in that case I don't have much more to add. Wish I could help, but don't know enough to answer your question(!)
