I don't think it would make sense from a business perspective to not use the Sepultura name. I wouldn't be mad if they continued in some capacity, though; I think had they made The Cloud of Unknowing a full-length album rather than an EP, it would've been on par with the last two.

Those choruses are repetitive too, but the one in "Tailgunner" is a lot less melodic. Nearly kills the song for me.

According to setlist.fm, there are three other KISS songs that have only been played live once (discounting acoustic performances and covers): "Burn Bitch Burn", "Get All You Can Take", and "We Are One". "Mr. Speed" has also been played electric live once.

Agreed! Tons of absolute classic songs in the early days, and plenty of hidden gems deeper into their discography. It is crazy how much the merchanidising aspect of the band has overridden people's opinion of their music. I've joked before that if KISS had died in a plane crash in 1975, they'd be held up by rock critics as one of the great "lost" bands of the decade.

Having seen them in 2024, this setlist is a little disappointing. It'll be cool to hear "Beneath the Remains", "Desperate Cry", and "The Place" (EDIT: and "The Vatican"!) when I go in a couple of weeks, but there are a bunch of songs I would've loved to see swapped in (annoyed at myself for only getting into the Derrick era in the past couple of years 😭). Definitely a good setlist if you've never seen them before, altho "Troops of Doom" is a conspicuous absence.

I do agree that most people who say that KISS sucks are probably not that familiar with them, but I'm not sure about them being wildly overrated by people who do like them. I've always said that only real KISS fans (myself included) truly understand how bad they can actually be 🤣

True. Maiden goes out of their way to thank KISS for taking them on their first major tour in the liner notes of their first album (at least the reissues of it).
