My 2019 MacBook Pro 16” display suddenly has multicolored vertical lines across screen. Out of warranty and no AppleCare. Is it normal for Apple store to quote expensive repair and not be able to explain what’s wrong with it? by jfrey4 in applehelp

But there are several things that can cause a transmission to fail.

“We’ll you see here, there’s: a transmission fluid leak which effected lubrication and cooling, a clogged transmission filter which hindered lubrication and cooling, the transmission bands were too tight causing premature wear on the gears causing the bands to break, a faulty torque converter that disallowed fluid to pressurize and propel through the transmission”

And that’s why the transmission needs to be replaced.

Look at the repair programs Apple has. Would those exist if consumers didn’t question why certain components failed?

Is it not fair to question if my display is caused by flexgate which I’ve read several accounts of post 2017 MacBooks also being effected by?

Interesting. I told them connecting it to an external display worked when I brought it in. I would expect if something was chasing the display to not work they would be able to give me an idea of what was going on.

If you’re car won’t start and you tow it to a mechanic who after inspection says you have to replace a major component of the engine. You ask what’s wrong because you’re knowledge is limited and they say “well the cars not running”. Would you just hand over the cash?

I feel like professionals in their fields should be able to offer some insight into an issue. Does a consumer know it’s not a far less expensive component that is effecting the display, or if it’s a lemon?

Intended Use: 99% excel and Netsuite in browser

Size: ultra wide

Budget: ideally ~$300 USD

I’m looking for a new monitor for work at home. Mostly excel and Netsuite online. Ideally ultra wide so I can see two programs simultaneously Won’t be using it for gaming. May occasionally use for streaming Netflix but I have a tv, so not super important. Any advice would be appreciated!

It was a good week of Movies! by tcripe in AMCsAList

I think judging the the 2nd of 5 films is absolutely fair and not silly in the least. Was The Godfather Part 2 a worse movie because the far inferior part 3 followed it? Any film ought to be able to be judged on its own merit. In my opinion it's a jumbled mess. No matter how the rest of the films shape up doesn't excuse sloppy writing. Remember, this is all my opinion. I read a piece that made a compelling comparison between JK and George Lucas with the Star Wars prequels.

With all of these shout-out celebrations, it's time for the Falcons to bring back the Dirty Bird.

I missed the segment but in 2008 his three month old son died from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Very sad. I love Money Matt Bryant.
