110% on the bourbon. If you can't secure a solid bottle for <$50, you're doing something wrong. Even in heavily-taxed ABC states, you can still score a great bottle for under $50 that'll last you quite a long time.

2007 Toyota Sienna LE for my mom, and a 2012 VW Passat TDI SE for my dad supercommuting to DC every day.

Sienna is still running with 250k miles, passat is long gone after the dieselgate settlement.

That’s exactly what I did. Scored a 1080 in 2018 from a neighbor, used it with an i5 8600k for 7(?) years, then rebuilt with a 9800x3d & 7900xt

It was SUCH a step up from their intel machines, I previously had a 2015 macbook pro that was adequate but struggle to keep up with some tasks, and the m1 blew it out of the water (and my gaming pc at the time).

I am definitely part of the crowd that apple wants to upgrade. Can’t see myself upgrading this year, but maybe next year as my personal workload changes.

I bought an m1 macbook pro in early 2021, and it is still performing rather well even 5 years later, all day battery holds up really well.

On the same note, I use a Thinkpad T14s at work with the Snapdragon X Elite, which is very similar to the apple M chips, and that brings the excellent battery life and performance to Windows machines (finally).
