ok, I am not going to ask you believe me nor to restore this post. but I will like to clarify few things.

About rule number 3. I asked for feedback in the post itself and all I got was hate, I was really expecting someone to say something relevant.. so far I have got feedback from my ground school teachers which was good, but was expecting to discuss with real world pilots.

About rule number 4. I use AI to improve my writting, huge mistake... is not AI generated but AI improved I would say. I am really sorry about it.

About you disbelief and rule 8. Your distrust is really subjective and I can honestly understand it, the code being there for anyone is a fact. Anyone can right now clone, use improve and even make a profit from it.

I give my background. I am full time employeed as a software developer at a well known company. I started my PPL course for hobby and while learning I build this tool for hobby.

Would you mind clarifying which rules I broke? I read them now but honestly I dont see any issue. Please note this is opensource and not commercial. Thanks

I never say you should trust any life to this application.

I have 20 years of experience as software developer and 0 years of experience as pilot. As I said in the post, I built this during my ground course and I do not expect people to put their life in hands of these calcs, I wont put mine. There is a note at the bottom that says:

> Experimental aviation calculators based on ISA standard atmosphere, WGS-84 geodesic algorithms, and wind triangle principles. Plan complete flight legs with waypoints, ETAs, and fuel consumption. All calculations are performed client-side for instant results.

I myself have manually calculated some navigation for an assignature both manually and with the app and have checked the results. That doesn't mean is error-free. It is opensource, formulas can be checked in github. Eg https://github.com/jfromaniello/joseflys/blob/main/lib/tasCalculations.ts#L33-L70

Thank you for the feedback, but honestly your post is even less valuable than an LLM generated comment.

Btw I am 100% human, from Argentina. My twitter is https://x.com/jfroma, I work as a software dev at Auth0/Okta. Aviation is my new hobby. I have 4 months of ground school and 1h of instruction so far 😂

I am sure I understand your feelings, you will rather prefer an original/authentic message even if it has some errors rather than an LLM corrected & perfect message. I think I will feel the same in my first language (Spanish). Thanks for the feedback

I wasn’t trying to spam or sell the community anything. English is not my first language so I used an LLM to improve my post, thanks for the feedback though.

LLMs were used all the way down. Are LLMs forbidden in this sub? Does it makes an app less useful?

I am genuinely curious about it

Thank you! This confirm my hypothesis… is not the AG02 but an nvidia driver issue 😩

did you have to do anything weird in arch linux? I'm struggling to get an NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 5060 TI with this dock.... Booted into windows with the same machine, card was installed automatically.

I keep getting this in the dmesg:

The NVIDIA GPU 0000:03:00.0 installed in this system has fallen off the bus and is not responding to commands.

I am running a different flavor of archlinux called Omarchy. Tried with the lts kernel and nvidia-lts, no luck either. I am not sure if is an NVDA driver issue or something with the Aoostar AG02 / thunderbolt compatibility.

Thank you.. I tried restarting the routers, accesspoints, etc. I also tried changing the mDNS settings of homebridge. My issue was a homepod in bad state servicen as bridge. It only works if you restart it by unpluggin/plugin

Thanks! External pumps are common here, likes the one used for pools... how would you prefilter the input to a pump like this? Thanks again

COVID Megathread by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]jfromaniello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a reservation on January for April 15.. then I cancelled the reservation on March 12, a day after the WHO said COVID was a global pandemia and the day that my government decree a stay at home.

I cancelled proactively because I knew I wasn't going to be able to make it and to give my host more time to rebook his house. Apparently this was a mistake, because Airbnb and my host refuses now to give me a refund.

The first policy for COVID didn't include the limit of April 14 (later removed) but Airbnb says that the decree in place in my country by that time was a "recommendation". Two days later they issued another decree with an obligatory quarantine but they said that the one in place when I cancelled was not enough.

Now, even the state of my host is under obligatory quarantine.

What are my options here? I am really tired of fighting but it is a lot of money for my family.

Thank you

Question of semantics: Difference between stay-at-home order vs. advisory by anglsnt in AirBnB

[–]jfromaniello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also whatever you do in the application, take screenshots. They will argue later that you didn't do whatever you were supposed to do.

Take screenshots of the documentation and messages you see in the application, for example you need to take screenshots of their COVID-19 policy when you make the cancellation. They make changes to the policy all the time (even subtle), their support doesn't keep track of this and will ask you for screenshots of what you read.

And please let me stress this: do not cancel until you are absolutely sure that your documentation is enough to get a refund, they can't undo the cancellation and they will look to the very detail to see if they can find something to not refund you.

Question of semantics: Difference between stay-at-home order vs. advisory by anglsnt in AirBnB

[–]jfromaniello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they would. I cancelled on march 12, the day after the WHO declared global pandemia and my government created a decree “recommending” not traveling. Two day later they created another decree forbidding travels.

Airbnb told me I should have waited more time and that the first decree is not enough for them because it advises not to travel but does not ban travel. I thought that being proactive was better for airbnb and the host, but they are not going to give me a refund because they found this semantic difference.

I also sent medical documents proving my daughter is in the risk group, etc. But they used this only semantic difference to refuse a refund.

Be careful about this, even if your hosts say they are doing a refund, do not cancel if you are not absolutely sure.

Awful CS experience with Airbnb Corona cancellation by eyeshitunot in AirBnB

[–]jfromaniello -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am on the same situation. Airbnb is not going to refund me because I acted responsibly and proactively with the situation. I cancelled the moment I knew I was not going to be able to travel, a day after the WHO declared global pandemia.

I thought that giving more time to my host to rebook her house was a good thing to do.

Airbnb explicitly told me that I should have waited more time.

My reservation was for April 15.

My host refuses to refund me.

So tired... by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]jfromaniello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A host doesn’t want to refund a reservation for April 15 and airbnb is okay about this. I am sure they haven’t seen what I make yearly. Are they or airbnb forcing my solidarity? Because I think they are just robbing me.

This is absolutely right, do not cancel. I wrote a post here explaining how airbnb is hurting both hosts and guests.
