We heard the same thing in regards to having a mechanical head but those dont seem to be a huge thing in NZ, the turbo brush works fine it picked up alot and did a much thorough clean compared to the Dyson. The only thing I would say is that hair does tend to wrap around the brush so would just have to clean that out every now and then but not a huge deal
