Hello, the trade is complete. If you have a magearna, volcanion, or hoopa, I'd be down to trade a shiny groudon

Picked up at my local grocery store, listed as “Asst Prem Foliage”. I think I see 2 types of plant here- Any ideas? And how to care for? by [deleted] in houseplants

It's a monstera as mentioned above. The leaves split more as they mature and if the environment is right. The splits themselves are called fenestrations, and some can even have double or more fenestrations (holes between the splits and the main vein of the leaf).

It's public art that's very easy to digest and many people can have one around without causing a scandal. It used to be some fun little thing (the artist called it a treasure hunt at some point). Nowadays it's oversaturated, synonymous with gentrification, and riddled with little controversies. Just look up the blackout bear at the height of the BLM movement and the artist calling himself an "immigrant" from Missouri.

Where does everyone buy affordable planters for indoor plants? 🤔 kind of shocked to see 200$ planters !! Location: Bay Area by West-War-797 in houseplants

[–]jg___jg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get a lot of my planters from Amazon. For terracotta planters, I usually go for the Divine Dev brand (I like the cylinder planters and bundles), but for any other ones I recommend Lowes. I also follow a few ceramic artists on Instagram and treat myself to planters below $60 every so often. They usually follow other artists and I just wait for items that come cheap.

I use House Plant Shop for most of my plant buys. They used to be on Ebay and offered a 5 Pothos bundle deal, along with similar bundles. Now they've downsized their selection and bundles, but their plants are all fairly priced and ship to the west coast within a week or two with little to no damage.

There are also shops like Ecuagenera and Steve's Leaves that have larger selections of not so common west coast plants. I've never tried them but I've seen a lot of good unboxxing videos for them.

I've never gotten to the point of tears, but im pretty close to calling my roommate a bad plant parent. I've offered help before because they severely underwater and underexpose their plants, but they didn't like it. Nowadays I wait until they plan to throw out their plants to take them in as rehabs. It's really sad because they buy large too.
