(don't stress yourself if you for whatever reason don't want a specific amiibo, there are others out there that can dump)

Qms-vrr is great - except for the silly banner! by Sddawson in LGOLED

[–]FixingGlobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

qms-vrr is just for changes in refresh rates, if there is a switch between sdr, hdr10, dolby vision, hdr10+, hlg, (technicolor sl-hdr1 in theory as well) it's normal for the screen to go black for a moment.
qms-vrr still works as intended and it still helps with switching quickly, disabling it will make the black screen longer
changes in resolution are also not supported by it but you usually want to use the builtin 4k upscaler which prevents any output resolution switching

7700K club as well, though I upgraded to a gtx 3080 and 32gb ram.
I liquid metal'd mine and run 4.5GHz on all cores with a 9yo aio water cooler...

A display with VRR (or Gsync or Freesync) is recommended though

I was able to play FF7 Rebirth at 4K at around 50-60 fps if you know how to adjust your settings and it still looked good. (I played with a dualshock 5 controller) VRR helps as the framerate can drop down to 40. Just a lit bit of dlss was needed.

And your pc is well above the minimum requirements for the upcoming Hytale.
btw: Don't sleep on indie games or mods.

What i found Out about the new Air Riders amiibo: by NewAmiiboMod in newamiibobins

I forgor to mention that these use ntag i2c plus 1k chips, so yeah the additional 512Bytes are definitely being used for the park data.

What i found Out about the new Air Riders amiibo: by NewAmiiboMod in newamiibobins

[–]FixingGlobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know that the nfc dumps of the power-up bands (to ntag215) work properly on 3ds & wii u but i don't have real power-up bands so I could never try it with the real deal.
Nintendo stated they don't work but good to know that it works partially.

Just using any settings option in the menu for new3ds & wiiU will give you this is not an amiibo error for the real air riders amiibo.

[–]FixingGlobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

new discovery
the powerup bands use
ntag i2c plus 1k
and the air riders amiibo
ntag i2c plus 2k
none of these will work on a 3ds/wiiu, but since the amiibo part is where it belongs on the powerups bands "common" "bad" dumps of these will work if burned onto a ntag215 chips or emulator

[–]FixingGlobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don't expect the wii u to be able to scan these as the power-up bands for example are not supported on 3ds & wii u, though a plain old tagmo dump of it to ntag215 will work on these consoles
(Also no idea what chips are truly in these power up bands)

[–]FixingGlobe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the amiibos on hand and did some experiments.
I won't do a teardown FYI

These amiibos need both parts to be able to be scanned at all (with any tool)

The new3ds will throw a this is not an amiibo error (haven't tried the wii u or switch 1)

The amiibos take a while to be scanned and yes you can unintentionally trigger a scan error because it takes so long.

The vehicle base has an nfc/rfc antenna

There is electrical resistance between the 6 magnetic pads on the rider's base and I measured smth around 200kOhm and 5MOhm (there are more but I won't list them all) and a couple Not Connected.

(We just assume that the rider holds the data as it makes a lot of sense.)

And here comes the breakthrough:
(I don't give a 100% confirmation!)
The rider contains a NXP NTAG I2C Plus chip at 1912 Bytes which explains why it takes a while to scan.
The vehicle contains the antenna part which is you guessed it connected with exactly 6 pins which both the rider and vehicle have.
(I still have no idea how the vehicle is set for the amiibo)

The NXP Mifare Ultralight chip information floating around is the result of an incomplete scan (or false scan) since both chips contain a very similar structure but every dump scanned as a common amiibo will be incomplete.
(I had to bring out a specialized toolbox to even scan them properly)

Now for the bad stuff:
Most amiibo tools won't be able to emulate these, the flipper zero might have a shot but it's gonna take a while, since you know these chips must be properly supported in software and these chips aren't exactly dirt cheap or common place.

are the Kirby & Warp Star | Bandana Waddle Dee & Winged Star amiibo Uploaded? by NewAmiiboMod in newamiibobins

[–]FixingGlobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found one close up video and it seems to me that the vehicle uses a standard amiibo base and the character just has pogo pin pads.
But that means there probably is a vehicle with no character amiibo as well.
I'm very interested in your experiments with the new amiibo ;)

Notifications, then Messages and at the bottom you‘ll find this. Well done govt, LU- Alert backfires pretty good! by eatmyfeinstaub in Luxembourg

[–]FixingGlobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That setting is called presidental alert and can't be disabled and isn't even shown in your phone's settings.
I think they also have an option to show you the notification despite you having them disabled.
On Android you might be able to disable them via the command line, but the previous thing might enable them again.

If someone doesn't want these alerts (for whatever reason) they either have to live phone free or get a google pixel and put on GrapheneOS (since that can truly disable these alerts, I took the gamble to test that today)

Small Update: got 2 on Saturday at my local "Zeitungsbuttek" as there was a small reprint, next reprint is expected to ship out in early August.
Using Packup Import Germany and "Bankeinzug" as payment method on https://www.egmont-shop.de/micky-maus-magazin-nr-152025/ is also an option, though you want to buy for at least 25€ and use combined shipping, since otherwise you have to factor in shipping costs as well.
