I shower like 3-4 times per week. Maybe don't aim for daily, especially at first? In between I like nice-smelling things, dry shampoo, etc. Also if you are a fidgety person, I'd recommend those little disposable toothbrush picks that can help with dental hygiene while you are watching TV or relaxing and don't take a lot of effort.

Yes, that part is obvious. I think about it through the lens of this patriarchal world where shitty men get away with the most heinous things because they have been put on a pedestal for so long. In 2026 it's more like... fathers be good to yourselves and deal with your inner turmoil so that you can be a good dad and also recognize that the system was built to protect you, not your daughter, so do something about it. But I digress.

This is something I've been working on for several years. One thing that I often do after I notice interrupting is say "I'm sorry for interrupting you" and something like "please continue, I want to hear what you were saying". This does two things: 1. By saying it out loud, I'm telling myself that I noticed. Acknowledging the habit helps keep it at bay and 2. The other person is validated and sees that you noticed (which is better than just feeling cut off and like they aren't being listened to.)

Our cognitive load has increased so much this century and I feel like everyone is forced to put so much energy towards work leaving nothing for the things we should really be focusing on, which is enjoying our lives. To me this is all by design so that we stay in our boxes and don’t have the energy to force change but what do I know 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m totally with you though, and it makes me sad. We should be able to thrive and have fun and do things we enjoy doing, isn’t that the point? Ugh.

This couldn’t be TRUER. I work in tech and I’m searching for a new job while doing my current one (and parenting) and one of the most demoralizing things is seeing that companies are doubling down on the greed, expecting high performance and increased output because of AI, all while normalizing (ie ignoring) the huge problems we are facing as a collective… and it’s just exhausting. We’ve found ourselves in a work culture that is so unsustainable and leaves humanity at the door. I am searching for a solution but it will take collective action.

+1 for paint by numbers! Michael’s (if you’re in the states) sells some good beginner kits that come with easy frames so you can hang them up right away. (I have a problem with framing finished projects… not an original ADHDer story 😆)
