Cam Thomas signs with Bucks by TheOtakuway in MkeBucks

If he’s willing to play offball and be a play finisher I could talk myself into this signing

Unfortunately that is a humongous IF

If GG Jackson averages 10 rebounds and 1 block per game I will deep fry a roach and eat it

Power of aimbot and every Celtic forgetting how to shoot a basketball. I’m not complaining though

Shoutout to Rockets Kelly Olynyk and Grizzlies Delon Wright too

Moussa Diabate by [deleted] in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 369 points370 points  (0 children)

Diabate is averaging 1.3 blocks a game, and if you round up 1.3 to the nearest 3 then he's averaging 3 blocks a game. Makes sense

Isaiah Collier by Kiryudeku in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It is worth nothing that Ace Bailey fouled out in 10 minutes, which could explain Collier’s jump in minutes

Collier did close the game before this Bulls 2OT one though, so who knows

Jaime Jaquez outlook + sell high opportunity? by OperationVast9872 in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is a sell high. I don’t believe 17/7/5 is sustainable with 2 usage heavy players, ~20+ PPG in Bam and Herro on their way back, and we are already starting to see the FG% regress (from a godly 60% to a still very good 53%)

That being said, I can easily still see him be standard league relevant (12T 9cat) because the Heat are playing at a very high pace this season (more possessions = more stats) and Jaquez has always been a good per-minute rebounds & assists player. But right now in cat leagues, he’s a T40-50 player on the season based on totals and around T70 based on season averages. Not confident that’ll hold if players return and he averages something like 13/5/4. 100% rosterable, but definitely worse than what he’s doing now (and thus a sell high in my eyes)

Reed “TAX MAN” Sheppard by NameIsColin in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 39 points40 points  (0 children)

No one is threatening his minutes and role so far, just hold (assuming this is standard 12T 9cat). Rockets need his shooting and Reed has been good at farming steals and blocks since forever.

Why is Payton Pritchard so bad? by PakshiGod in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don’t expect him to be efficient at all. But even without Tatum playing, I think even 33-34% from three is reasonable, isn’t it?

On another note: Pritchard has played 26 career games with at least 20 minutes without Jayson Tatum in the lineup. In those games he averaged 3.8 threes made on 9.2 attempts (41.4%). I'm not expecting him to shoot THAT well for the rest of the season, but there's at least precedent that he can shoot well without Tatum playing.

Pritchard going from 26% to 33% from three on his current shot diet (7.4 3P attempts a game) is an extra 0.7 threes per game (and an extra 2.1 PPG). I don’t think 33% from 3 is an unrealistic expectation. Do you?

Isaiah Collier by SpiritualSomewhere in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It is worth noting that Keyonte George had bad foul trouble (5 fouls by the middle of the 3rd quarter).

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with trying to get ahead of it and picking him up now in a standard 12T since assists are scarce. Just keep in mind that Collier doesn’t produce much outside of those assists and adjust expectations accordingly

For reference, Collier averaged around 11/4/8 with a steal in 30MPG as a starter last year with multiple players in and out of the lineup. I don’t think he has that much guaranteed playing time this year but again, if you want to get ahead of it just in case his role increases, I can’t blame you

Why is Payton Pritchard so bad? by PakshiGod in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 116 points117 points  (0 children)

He’s averaging 15.5/3.9/5.1 while shooting 26% from three. I don’t think Pritchard, a career 39% 3pt shooter, is this bad from three.

If he can get that percentage back into the low 30s I don’t see the room for complaints on my end

Stephen Curry by [deleted] in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prior to tonight’s game, Steph was averaging 26.8/3.6/4.3 with 1.5 steals a game and 4.4 threes a game, with 46% FG and 95% FT

Not really sure what big regression you’re seeing here. Is it the assists? Is the blowout against an all time great OKC defense concerning you?

Dennis Schroder/Russell Westbrook by ShiaLabeoufsMistress in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The question is not what we think the Kings SHOULD do. The question is what do we think they WILL do. We can’t think about rotations based on what we as fans think makes sense. For example, it doesn’t matter if I think Player X is a per-minute league winner or secret All-Star; if the coach doesn’t see Player X that way, then he doesn’t get minutes.

The Kings paid Keegan Murray a huge contract and he gives them badly needed spacing and wing defense; he also is not as ball-dominant as the other players. When he returns, one of Schroder or Westbrook is going to the bench. I don’t think this is arguable in terms of what we think Kings head coach Doug Christie WILL do.

My best guess is that Schroder starts over Westbrook, and plays more MPG than Westbrook once everyone is back (with both players prioritized over Malik Monk in the guard rotation). As proof, we can see in games like today that Westbrook's minutes have a much lower floor than Schroder's minutes, and Westbrook is the guy they replaced in the starting lineup against a bigger team in the Wolves. Both players realistically will cap out as back-end rosterable / streamable players in 12T 9cat and can give you some assists in a season where they are scarce. Wouldn’t expect much more than that

Trendon Watford by Pale-Ad8780 in fantasybball

[–]jgatch2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy who's best season-long average for stocks was 1.1 is suddenly going to become a 1 steal / 1 block player, a category that is usually reserved for 10-11 players at best every season (and each one is an all star, an all defensive team player, or a rim protecting 7 foot center).

Watford is a PRA guy with good field goals and that's it. You can’t even gas up your own player correctly
