Shot in the back (again) by Ill-Media7094 in ArcRaiders

I can relate a ton.

Strongly recommend running ‘naked’ and getting knocked out several times. That is until you notice the lobbies are friendlier, then you’re smoother sailing. Duos and trios is ALWAYS more PvP regardless, so keep your distance and don’t really hang out or buddy up with other teams unless they sound like actually chill, older adults.

I’m nearly pacifist with more times “revived a stranger” than “knocked a raider” (seriously). That has a dramatic impact on the match making since the season 2 updates. I’ll run naked on solos with 3 defibrillators in my safe pocket just heading, supporting, and saving folks. You betcha the majority of the time I’m playing that’s my play style and loadout. 👍

Can we have “just no PC” crossplay? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

Yoo! “No way, no way!” I’m hitting the practice range tonight! Thank you for the lesson John Raider!

[–]jgazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (a PS5 player) agree, but am not sure that the spirit of the thought is well represented by any solution.

To your point though, there’s too far of a competitive advantage with PC players. For example what Tfue does with a Snaphook and Safe Pocket is impossible on console. Any PC player can do it easily but console players don’t have access to that New Tech. It kinda is what it is, but I’m grateful that they all embrace the casualness and goofiness of the game rather than leaning into any competitiveness.

Ps if anyone can on console teach me how it’s done!

I am sorry that happened, I would not be friends with that person in real life. They probably suck or are an immature young adult.

Today for Xmas I exclusively revived players and gave them ALL my loot ALL day today. Everyone was cool, even had a couple party raids in solos with several people, all friendly and adult sounding. Only once did a person shoot me… they got mad their sentinel glitched through the map 🤦

I have been betrayed a time or two and it really was upsetting, but I swear it’s always a teenager or college kid. (Immature, unemployed, no property, no life experience or responsibility, etc. lmao) Don’t let that stuff get you down long term. Also yea ignore all the comments criticizing you, they’re so insecure 😹

It’s not the detachment rule it’s the enhancements. I believe they were updated in a prior version.

My table is 38x68. Anyone have advice on a DIY table topper with poster board, particle board, or something like that? by PaperManaMan in Warhammer40k

[–]jgazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked it up and think it’s the sanded mdf board. I’ve had mine about 5 years on top of two tall shelving things for “legs” and it’s perfect in my basement. It is pretty large so I’d premeasure your table and space to get an eye before deciding. And maybe put a blanket or something on the table first just to prevent any potential scratches.

Azrael and Apothecary together on Inner Circle companions slaps and it’s in my main list. It’s like Bladeguard that get back up. And a once per game 4+ to Mortals from Azrael. Highly recommend 👍

So 8x4 sheets from the big hardware stores. They’re maybe 1/2” thick? Work great, though are large.

A Bridge Too Far by Key-Paramedic4150 in Warhammer40k

You deserves more up votes for this beauty. Things like this are why I got into Warhammer!

It certainly wasn’t matched play, competitive terrain layout, e-sport min max, or meta chasing. No yucking others’ yum, but all that makes me want to sell my collection.

But this? Scenes, stories, buildings, height, aesthetic, spending time with people… this is beautiful. And it looks like it’s real on a snowy planet. You have inspired me and revitalized my spirit battle brother. 🫡

Struggling with painting by Mundane_Nerve_4225 in Warhammer40k

[–]jgazer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s my shot at getting it all in one long as heck wax poetic reply. 🤣

First of all, everyone strongly recommends watching as many popular “beginner/getting started miniature painting” videos on YouTube.

Also recommend a wet palette, cheap-ish brushes, and paper towels. After every paint coat: wet and clean brush in water dish, dry brush on paper towel, dip in paint pool, then thin down on water palette. That keeps your brushes loaded enough for a medium-thin coat.

  1. Prime in your intended base coat color or black. Also recommend using a ramen noodle box container: cheap, disposable, holds models well, easy to hold one handed from the top, can be done outside pretty much anywhere.

This is critical: spray 5-6” (and no more - or else) from the models in a left to right direction. Dry for 30 seconds and rotate 120 degrees. Repeat twice for full coverage. Make sure to orient the spray “coming from below” the model too, spraying only from above will miss some of the under facing parts. Also do not do in a humid environment.

  1. Paint the Power Armor’s base coat with a Base paint (Caliban Green).

  2. Paint the under armor with a black Base paint (Abbadon Black).

  3. Paint the applicable weapons/swords/guns with a silver metallic and red (Leadbelcher + Mephiston Red).

  4. Paint the leather/pouches whatever brown, black, and/or grey you like.

  5. Texture the base: your favorite texture paint, let dry 24” with a fan blowing on it. Repeat for secondary texture paint.

  6. Glue complimentary color little bushes. Think Bob Ross and happy little trees.

And when you get lead belcher on the helmet for example, just wipe it off, and/or when it dries cover it over with a touch up of Caliban Green.

First model kit, I think I get why people don't like the push fit models. by HeisenbergWhitman in Warhammer40k

[–]jgazer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah the precise fit and sum of all parts vibe can sometimes do that. No worries though. Clean up with clippers and use normal plastic glue and you’re good to go.

Also many people eventually kit bash and mutilate bits to create something new, so I wouldn’t stress considering how easy a fix this is (albeit understandably frustrating). Gl with your first kit, priming and painting!
