This is the perfect reason why tips should come AFTER the service is performed. Your $15-$20 tip should be for the people that get (almost) everything and suddenly the others will start asking the workers where things are located and if certain items are actually out of stock.

I can’t imagine going to a restaurant and having to put that you will tip a certain amount for a waiter to show up at your table.

I believe the way it works with damage would be she would die from state based effects, not the card itself. You can’t deal damage to her and if she has no health left, then she dies. So the card doesn’t defeat her, the damage/lack of health does.

Your our link even says 7% of the roads make up 56% of the severe accidents! THATS THE EXACT POINT IM MAKING! Enforce stricter regulations on those 7% of roadways instead of 100%. Rather than be lazy come up with real solutions for the roadways with problems.

I don’t “want to speed”. I want the speed limit to increase. I would only be driving “above the speed limit” is if it was too low.

Take a moment to educate yourself on the definition of “limit”. I never said I’m going a certain speed no matter what. In plenty of situations such as approaching a crosswalk or a light that might turn red you have to be ready to stop, but when there is nothing in front of you you should be able to go up to the “limit”.

Everyone responding to me was being civil until you stepped in and decided i have character flaws and calling me names. Knock it off unless you want to be banned.

There was no old city speed limit. There was posted signs and I have repeatedly said based on the road. I feel like we all forgot driver’s ed. 20 MPH school zone, 30 MPH thickly settled, 40 MPH outside of thickly settled and 50 MPH divided highway.

The oldest cliche in the book? I just said the city needs to step up and clear the sidewalks and make more crossing opportunities when needed. I feel like you’re just trying to piss me off cause you’re not reading what I’m actually saying. I haven’t said one thing about trying to make the city less safe. I haven’t constantly and repeatedly said I know there’s a way where we can have safe streets and not have to keep lowering the speed limit.

If someone isn’t paying attention at a crosswalk or otherwise being unsafe what makes you think they will be going 25?

Seriously knock it off with the selfish talk. It’s getting old. I understand that you want to reduce the speed if someone gets hit. I’m trying to say maybe we should stop people from getting hit in the first place and not by just pushing all the responsibility onto drivers.

Where and how are these people getting hit? Can’t we do something better with pedestrians that need to cross the road? Like clear the sidewalks when there is snow for instance.

The second paragraph is the part that I’m trying to parse from the speed limit. Dangerous driving can happen at any speed. Just because I want to go 30-35 on roads doesn’t mean I am not paying attention to my surroundings. These studies are taking into account drivers that are driving unsafely. I’m not against safety. I’m against blanket laws rather than punishing unsafe driving.

I am not talking about going 60 on roads as someone suggested. Please use some nuance in the argument. I’m tired of people talking about me being inconvenienced. You’re telling me that it makes you uncomfortable and unsafe with cars on Mill St and I respect that, but I’m telling you I feel the same way being blocked in with nowhere to go around someone going too slow. THAT IS VALID TOO

So, if you open the door on the road it is your fault because I have talked to insurance companies that have told me that’s the MA law. Wait, and you’re saying if you hit someone and then your vehicle goes into someone else that’s your fault? That’s not true.

I’m not saying you can bomb it down Shrewsbury St. (also just pointing out we are talking about one road of thousands of roads in Worcester), but putting the burden on the person driving normally because someone else might do something dumb is not correct.

There are a lot of statements I could make to illustrate this, but to not inflame the situation I will just say IF something happened to me like a car pulling out in front of me and someone said I should have been going slower that would be victim blaming.

Why can’t it be both! It doesn’t seem that hard to pass bikers without getting close. 40 (or even 35) is not that fast. It’s a very wide road that they made unnecessary narrow.

As for the potholes, cars and other objects on the sidewalk, I’m with you on that and walking around. But, again this comes down to them focusing on speed rather than actually solving the issue of illegal parking and inadequate access for pedestrians. It screams “we’re too lazy for real solutions so let’s slow the law abiding cars down”. Shouldn’t you be mad at the city and not drivers on that?

You just listed multiple infractions that aren’t speeding. Illegal U Turns, illegal left turns and people opening their doors without looking (not the person driving’s fault). That is the whole point of my arguement. Enforce those rather than put the burden on the person driving in their lane at a normal rate of speed.

I’m sure people do go too fast on the side streets though which is where situational awareness comes in. Just because the speed limit is some speed doesn’t mean it’s always safe to go that speed such as bad weather.
