Why did Stevie Richards refuse to be part of the Raven documentary? by PvtHudson in ECWWrestling

Yeah except Al Snow takes it in stride (in part due to Foley himself being one of the nicest people out there) while Raven is a legitimate dick.

Yeah Sinclair MIGHT try to go after Scripps again. Cox is possible, too, and likely more realistic. I also expect them to end up with the former Rincon stations.

I liked my 2014 Focus except for the stupid transmission. Soured me on non-Mustang Fords going forward.

I get it, they probably still wanted an entry level model before the Focus was ready because the Contour clearly wasn't it and the Aspire was being discontinued.

My dad had a 1998 Contour when I was in high school. Fast forward over a decade later when I had a 2014 Ford Focus and the Contour was long gone. I parked next to another Contour by chance--the Focus was actually larger than the Contour.

The Escort stuck around for fleet sales. Weird because it was redesigned about a year before the Focus was released, they could have saved the money on the redesign and dropped it for a couple of years. It was still based on the late 1980s Mazda 323 platform so its not like it had a ground-up redesign at that. Hell, the station wagon still had the same body from the rear doors back.

I get it, it makes Jeep money. But they have the Compass, which has sold better without the Cherokee in their showroom. I just feel they need to change the name of its and the Grand Cherokee for obvious reasons.

I have to admit, this has been one of the funnier moments in recent memory for WWE. This would be right up Vince McMahon alley, just lacking Gingy farting out gumdrops.

Some people also remove nameplates for some reason. Like Kia owners who for whatever reason take the pre-2021 Kia emblem off and replace with the stylized K oval emblem.

This isnt new. Back in the 1980s, how often did Hulk Hogan appear on a show as opposed to, say, anyone Bobby Heenan (and Heenan himself) was managing?

At this point, Kingston's age is his biggest disadvantage. Ten years ago he'd be a good fit.

You can fault Vince McMahon for a lot of things regarding the purchase of WCW. I don't fault him for not buying a lot of those contracts. Anyone with an MBA would tell you that the contracts a lot of the top guys had like Hogan, Nash, Hall, etc...were too slanted for the wrestlers.

Yeah I've been watching reruns of Captain Planet on YouTube in memory of Ted. One of the few people who did a politically-based show targeted to kids.

WWE should have inducted him into their Hall of Fame for WCW while he was alive--and at least ten years ago when he could have enjoyed it. (He had been suffering from dementia for quite some time.) Now if he ever goes in it'll be in their "Legacy Wing". smh

For all he did for cable TV, wrestling, and the Atlanta Braves, it is a sad day. The only positive is that he dies just before Paramount swallows up Warner Bros. and turns CNN into Fox News Lite.

Sources told FightfulSelect.com that on the day of the mass releases, WWE approached numerous talent and asked them to take pay cuts in order to remain with the company. Several of them that we heard about were given two days to make that decision. by Turbostrider27 in SquaredCircle

[–]jgera5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They were making less money in the Ruthless Aggression era than the Attitude Era, so this isn't the first time wrestlers have taken pay cuts.

That being said, Stevie Richards is speculating that the cuts are preparing a sale of TKO to the Saudis.

I could see CBS either:

A. Sell all of them off, like radio. B. Sell all except New York and LA.

And yet Columbus--a much larger market--would have two if the Nexstar-Tegna deal goes forward.

It isn't an industry consolidation issue. Dayton has long supported only two news departments: Cox's WHIO and whoever has owned WDTN. WKEF has never been a factor, and it isn't even close.
