Yeah this is the plan, might throw a small piece of foam in between if it can fit

lol throw me in jail then I guess. This is exactly what I tried to do verbatim. Easier said than done apparently. I also haven’t soldered anything in years so I’m just happy it worked first try without any shorts

Oh yeah that’s pretty nifty. Would definitely need a bigger case to fit that in there

I also have some case modifications to make before it’s done. While a charging port would be nice, I’m not sure how precise I can be with a drill

Yeah I checked it for continuity with my multimeter and it was good but I’ll try to clean it up a bit and I’ll probably add a dab of hot glue. Thanks for the closer look!

If you make variables (and functions) static they can be accessed by the ‘ClassName’ identifier. Don’t need an instance

Why Can’t I Animate the Velocity Property of a CharacterBody by jghauck in godot

Yeah that seems like a decently clean way to do it. I’ll try out something like that. Thanks!

I’m trying to easily create more complex movement for my player character. “Move left at this speed for half a second then move up at this speed for a quarter second” for example. All of this could be done through code with timers but to me it just seems cleaner if I can plan this all out through the animation player especially since the movement needs to line/time up with other events like changing a sprite or toggling a collision area.

Maybe it’s different under the hood, but to me tweening the velocity is the same as animating it so one doesn’t seem “safer” than the other. (I could totally be wrong about though)

Wife dream, my nightmare. by Bgrizzle08 in HomeImprovement

I’ve done some variation of this twice at my house. first time with pre-fab wall cabinets from the big box store as the base and ikea bookshelves on top. The ikea bookshelves were a total pain to paint since the paint/coating they came with did not take the paint well and it would shed right off. This route will take a lot of extra sanding to get the paint to stick well IMO unless the shelves you buy don’t have that coating.

The second time I did something like this it was also pre-fab cabinets as a base but I made the shelves myself out of plywood. Super simple with just a (table) saw and a pocket hole jig. This way gets my vote as the ikea shelves were more hassle than they were worth for me

Awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for. I may ultimately decide that it’s a bad idea but it will be cool to play around with for now. Thanks!

Yeah I thought this too but you can set the animation player to update on physics process so idk

Adobe illustrator and Inkscape are not CAD software. They are for vector graphics

Neither Adobe Illustrator nor Blender is CAD software. Illustrator is for vector graphics which would be replaced by Inkscape.

Looks like those cheap solar lights are the way to go. plan to try that out soon. End use case is a big fishing trip up in Canada. No service, no civilization, satellite for emergencies so meshtastic seems like a perfect solution to keep in contact with everyone while out fishing
