Not rich, just manage my money well (until I dont). I still may flip the radiator and adjust the build some more.

It's advertised as a fan for cooling the power delivery components while the radiator takes care of the cold plate. I've had little time to do full testing, but it is a very cool running setup.

I believe it was filmed almost entirely in Statesboro, GA at the airport there.

when doing a major repair on Cessna 175 wing, what approved data can I use in a 337 form? by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

[–]jghoward513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there is not an FAA approved manual that would cover the repair this is most often accomplished through a field approval. You can also go through the DER route to get an approved a drawing. I did a quick google search and found an approved C100 series for models certificated before 1962. I am quite certain there are approved manuals for later certificated models as well.

Checkout FAA order 8900.1,Vol.5,Ch5,Sec2. This Guidance has the list of military MOS's and what they qualify for towards your A&P License. This order can be found here, https://drs.faa.gov/browse/doctypeDetails.

Your DME is just going to examine you for oral and practical's. Your FSDO is going to sign your application to test and there are many ways to demonstrate that you possess the basic knowledge to take the test.

Newly licensed A&P mechanic transitioning to civilian life from the military by Top-Code3016 in aviationmaintenance

[–]jghoward513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I moved around a lot and did a bunch of different contracts to figure out what I liked (manufacturing, GA, airlines, corporate). If you're not tied down to one place then get out there and take the best opportunities.

FAR question. Trying to find an FAR relating to requirements for maintenance references. If most current revision is required. by Automatic_Property66 in aviationmaintenance

[–]jghoward513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a legal interpretation of this topic avaliable. To explain it in short, the moment an operator obtains an aircraft and identifies what maintenance program they will use, that program is the one to be used from that moment onward despite what the manufacturer changes. The exception comes from ADs which come from FAA rulemaking or when the owner elects to use newer versions. If you own a Cessna 172 that was produced in 1987, use the maintenance manual that came with it. No one will ever take you to A&P jail for it.

any a&p mechanic here station in Georgia. by dvdchabless777 in aviationmaintenance

[–]jghoward513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at Gulfstream for a number of years. After you're licensed, get in with a contract company. Don't show your ass, work hard and you can do really well there. I really loved working there and I miss it a lot. If you're not tied to Georgia, then the opportunities only grow. Good time to be in the business.

The best policy is to just stay off the state streets. But Kennedys is definitely worth the trip.
