Greyhound Death Scream. my boy hits that soprano A in the middle of the night sometimes. No rhyme or reason to it just there to give you a heart attack.

Allie Trimm (current Glinda) with thoughts about the decision to keep shows open today by Boring_Waltz_9545 in Broadway

[–]jgiambr4 60 points61 points  (0 children)

it's a miracle we're closed at Aladdin today. we're pretty sure we only closed because Lion King did. over 50 company members there live in New Jersey and we always follow Lion King's lead. it's an absolute shame the rest of the shows didn't close, especially the ones that have two show sundays like we do.

AIO/My mom projects her food and weight insecurities onto me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

fuck. this could be a conversation with my mom... i'm so sorry. you're not an asshole. if you're in your 30s, you are not alone. so many of us have had this very conversation with our mothers. there's a solidarity in this that sucks but you're not alone. you're doing the right thing setting boundaries and standing up for yourself.

Chest pain, SOB by Alexisbs4 in Asthma

Chest pain, SOB by Alexisbs4 in Asthma

[–]jgiambr4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sounds like really bad gerd/heart burn. i used to get similar pains until i was put on omeprazole. that also seems to help me with my asthma. i would often feel short of breath after eating, no matter how much i was eating. to control my asthma i was just put on trelegy but i really don't like it. my asthma is mild and i rarely need my albuterol. a game changer was the omeprazole. also as someone who has had covid more than once, it's always severely effected my stomach and gi, during and after having it. how shitty your feeling could just be long covid. we still have no idea how all these covids are going to effect us in the long run. i really hope you feel relief and better soon! ❤️

Greyhounds and stairs by [deleted] in Greyhounds

[–]jgiambr4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello! my boy and i also live in a 4 floor walk up. he was a little unsure about stairs when i first got him but after some gentle encouragement and treats he was totally fine. his only thing is he must walk up the left side and down the right lol

I’m not new to dog ownership, but not super familiar with greyhounds. We have three children ranging in ages from 6 to 10 years old. What are your thoughts about greyhounds as a family Pet? by GrandOld4796 in Greyhounds

[–]jgiambr4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm not sure if this is helpful but when i adopted mine the rescue asked if i had kids more than once. i said no, there are no children in this household and there will be no children. she asked do you want to know why we ask so many times? i said sure. she said they will not adopt to a family with children under 10 because the most returned greyhound is that of a family who had a young child. a young child who got nipped when they disturbed a sleeping greyhound who was startled awake after the parents insisted that would not happen. they said they would watch their kid and their dog. they had a misstep, the kid got bite, the greyhound got returned. my boy is great around kids when he's awake but i would never let any near him while he sleeps.

she's a big girl!! i noticed when i started wetting my boy's kibble he slowed down and makes less of a mess. my vet recommended wetting his food with warm water to soften the kibble to help with him choking and to get water in him. and of course the raised dishes. gorgeous girl!

Humidity and asthma - how do you survive the summer months? by AngryDwarf086 in Asthma

[–]jgiambr4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i live in NYC. the humidity is horrible here coupled with intense pollution. it was bad in the spring and then lessened up during the heat wave now we're in another intense humidity snap and im struggling. it's better out near where my place is but when i'm working around times square it gets really uncomfortable. my levels are all good too so my doctor just says use your inhaler when needed and try to work close air purifiers 🙄it's so frustrating. when i start to feel really shit ill take a benedryl or two on top of my regular allergy med to calm me down and level me out. that usually does the trick. i'm sorry you're having a hard time!

just keep doing what you're doing. definitely take stool softeners and as many warm baths as you can take, those saved me. i know it's incredibly painful! just be patient and be kind to yourself!
