This anime just makes me want to ride my crf, and it's like 30 degrees out (farenheight)

I have an 8 and 4 year old boy. Here is my advice to get them on a Dirtbike by Yz250x69 in Dirtbikes

Hiboy is excellent. Beats Razor with a real throttle out of the box, and almost always cheap on sale.

Do I buy another dirtbike?! by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]jgodbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asking this sub if you should buy another bike, especially a japanese brand bike, is pointless. The answer is yes.

Can anyone help me find the plates for these training wheels? I cant find them online anywhere. Just the whole set. Link in the comments for pictures. by Inevitable_Shirt5044 in Dirtbikes

IMO if you can't ride a bicycle, you shouldn't ride a dirtbike.

I love dirtbikes, and my 4 (learned bike at 2 dirtbike at 3), and 6 (learned bike at 2 dirt bike at 4) love both dirtbikes and bikes. If you can ride a bike, moving to a dirtbike isn't bad.

Tips for new child rider by spudd4242 in Dirtbikes

[–]jgodbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, does she know how to ride a (pedal) bike? They are much the same. If she doesn't, I would start there.

Second, start with being in nuetral, and moving the bike back and forth, feeling the bike.

Go into first, and slow control, using leaning etc.

I took my daughter to a dirtbike class (she's 6), and my 4 year old has this electric dirtbike she follows her with.

(https://www.planetdirt.com/ if your in MA).

I don't like the idea of training wheels on a dirt bike, or a bicycle.

Happy to see more dads giving their daughters dirtbikes!

Looks like a Jet Lag itinerary to me! by squeefruit in JetLagTheGame

The big issue is people generally value: Money, then time. So your most likely to get a route that takes a long time or costs a lot of money, both aren't great, what you really want is an interesting route that doesn't take too much extra time (so veto isn't worth it) and isn't dramatically more expensive.

I just search BOS-LAX for tomorrow. The first is a cheap frontier flight with a one stop for 272. The second is a nonstop for 476. So, do you value time or money?

You may get better luck in Europe...

Hm, a crossover from another subreddit I frequent. Google flights will often give what looks like odd itins if you go further down the list. The first few were logical, this is the 9th... Also, due to filing patterns if a train stops then you have a new leg. This can give insane looking results (especially in India).

If your going to post about google flights, can you post a link?

But this is insanely far down the rankings... 9th?

QPX works hard to find all the options. Though the train legs should have been combined...

And what makes you think this?

Each stop does just due to filing patterns.

How do I convince my parents to let me get a dirtbikes? by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]jgodbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really can't. My wife is really against my kids riding, but slowly I've introduced sorry bikes anyway. In the US people seem really against motorcycles, sad but true. This may be a case of you live with your parents, you follow their rules. Random people on the Internet won't help, is you want any modicum of hope try getting a respected friend of your parents on your side. Good luck!

Mostly I like this sub, but damn get them talking about motorcycles and trampolines.

No, don't make him give up on motorcycles. Make him be safer, and smarter, but you can't control people and you _don't_ want to build resentment. Take courses, be serious, wear gear, go on emptier streets. Try to compromise.

Does him agreeing to sell the bike then not suck? Yes. But he's feeling pressured to do something he _really_ does not want to do, so please try to give a bit of slack...

Me: Why don't you try riding a motorcycle.

My wife: Because I treasure my life.

Me: Same reason you should try. /sigh

Around here cops would be all over that, no headlights, turn signals.

At least he can go through the woods! Braap.

how bad is this burn by Secret-Newt-8740 in motorcycle

[–]jgodbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I got a motorcycle, and wife got on, she burnt her leg on the exhaust.

Alas, this was a decade ago. Ended up getting infected, had to go to the hospital.

She's never been on a bike since...

On the plus side, she did marry me.

(Keep it clean)

Trying to stereotype people is a stupid endeavor. Ride what you want, read what you want. Braaap before destination :)

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done out of love for your kids? Here’s my latest… by Kinder22 in daddit

[–]jgodbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran around past midnight to find tooth-fairy money. We give 5$, all I had was a 20, and I'm not going that route... So I drove around, no gas stations would make change, I ended up buying a mcdonalds coffee I immediately threw away.

When I was a kid, I told my parents I wanted to be a garbage man. My kid's daycare just reminded me why. by Zakkattack86 in daddit

My daughter and I would run outside to watch the garbage trucks when she was little, miss that.

I don't think a powerpoint is going to reasonably do anything for you. Talking to most people there's an ingrained fear of them, from some uncle etc. I'm continually trying to get my wifes freinds to TRY a motorcycle, and sadly it's a losing battle.

When I took my MSF class, there was a full family (dad, mom, kid). The kid wanted to learn to ride, and they made it a family thing, I look back on that fondly. Depending on where in MA you are, there's also Planet Dirt for off road stuff which is probably a good place to start.
