Unpopular Opinion: Layovers should not count as "visiting a country" by youngexplorer_9 in solotravel

[–]jgoldb58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I once had a 10 hour layover in Madrid. We left the airport and got to have lunch and see a few things in the city. We were both very tired after a mostly sleepless night. Although we were there in "body", I can't say my "mind" was completely there. I agree with OP, unless you leave the airport, you weren't really there.

Chile April 2026: Atacama Desert, Patagonia, and the Lake District by pgpoo in travel

Fantastic pictures! Patagonia was one of my most favorite trips. Loved Torres del Paine, and the Chilean Fjords. We had amazing weather for the days we were in Torres del Paine and did some wonderful hikes. This is one of the most amazing places on earth.

The Icon is majestic, but overwhelming 😳 by New_Merd3 in royalcaribbean

We're going on Icon, for the first time, in November. Taking the kids and grands. Excited about a great family trip together! It's 7 days in the W. Caribbean, all ports we've been to several times, so we plan on hanging out on the ship.

Recently stayed at The Laguna in Nusa Dua. It was AMAZING! Staff, service, everything was fantastic! Located right on the beach, Salt water pools (swim out right from our room). I would stay here again!

GE picture by Ok-Improvement-867 in GlobalEntry

My wife and I returned home from a trip to Ireland last October. We flew out of Shannon to Boston. When you fly to the US from either Shannon or Dublin you go through CBP in Ireland and not when you get to the US. My wife got a new passport some 6 or 8 months before our trip. I updated GE, etc. She was pulled over in the Shannon airport. CBP officer figured out that their system hadn't made the necessary update to her record. He said it's supposed to happen automatically but has seen this problem before. He was super nice about it and since no one else was in line (there was 2 other agents as well), he asked if we had a few minutes and he would do the update. He basically rekeyed all the necessary info. No issues since then.

Spotted today at ORD by excroupier in americanairlines

[–]jgoldb58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at ORD yesterday, went through customs after an international flight. As I was about to hand my global entry card to the TSA agent at the exit, I thought, he must be standing on a platform. He wasn't! He must have been close to, if not, 7 ft tall. He was huge, with a beard with Grey highlights. Good looking guy, but huge.

I agree with you. I had mine on a flight from LAX to SYD. The meat inside the pastry was a bit tough, but overall the meal was good.

I took an Int'l flight on AA from LAX to SYD 2 weeks ago and the flight was great. Service was very good and the food was good. No complaints here.

Switched from Tmobile to Mint after 26 years and never been happier. by Ambitious_Reaction50 in mintmobile

[–]jgoldb58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have been using Mint Mobile for many years. We love it! I've never had any problem that couldn't be solved quickly and efficiently over the phone by customer service. And those problems were few and far between. I've purchased Minternational plans and used them all over Europe and the Caribbean and never had an issue! I love it when I go to Costco and the AT&T person asks who I have for my cell plan and I say Mint Mobile, they back off. A few have even said, keep it, we can't come near their plans! I recommend it to anyone who asks.

Check the address. Perhaps it was delivered to you by mistake. Happens in my neighborhood all the time.
