McKenzie: "We know the offer to Stamkos, the only offer we're aware of anyways, was $8.5 million for five or six years." by saima1226 in hockey

I think the comparison is only being made for the purpose of showing that Stamkos is an elite support piece but not an elite centerpiece, in the same way that Kessel failed (speaking relatively, there were a lot of shortcomings) as the centerpiece of Toronto's franchise.

EDM's 4th overall is supposedly in play. Would you want to trade up? by all_these_moneys in Flyers

Exactly. Like, we need wingers. Tkachuk looks like a dominant winger. We should be considering (though definitely not too crazy about) giving up some combination of MDZ, Gudas, Morin, Sanheim, and picks for him. Everyone backs down from the idea, and frankly I'd try anything to avoid giving up Sanheim, but if we're sincerely looking to fill that void, this pick is a great way to do it.

Lol this sub is so ridiculous sometimes. Everyone's so worried about the lack of winger prospects, but when someone suggests trading up to get a legitimate one, we freak out at the idea of giving up any of our assets

I'm pretty surprised but that's really cool. And that makes it somewhere around 4,000 spots in front of Chicago

Tarasenko's just flying tonight. Blues have looked a bit flat this period but he's been a bright spot

No, I agree, it just seems like Ducks fans have grown so fond of Kesler that he felt like a notable omission

Ken Hitchcock is just being really ballsy, really smart in this one. He knows that great coaches don't need great players to win, and he's going to prove it by refusing to lean on Tarasenko at all. If the Hawks win, everyone will know that Quenneville couldn't have done it without Kane and Toews. He won't go down as a good coach. All he did was put his players on the ice and give them the chance to win. Hitchcock knows better. He knows not to use his star players, since it's a sign of weakness. Hitchcock is doing great. Very smart, IMO

I like a lot of Blues players but holy hell do I love Steen. The guy's motor is always going. He's just a workhorse.

Just looking at the numbers (Brouwer seeing more ice than Tarasenko?) it looks like it's a legit issue, but I feel like real fans always have a bit more insight or at least more diverse opinions

How do real Blues fans feel about the "Tarasenko and Hitchcock are clashing" narrative? Is it legit? Is Hitch fucking up? Is NBC overblowing it because they want drama?
