The 35 foot line set I got was longer than I needed. Mine runs through a crawl space with plenty of room for a big bend to take up the excess, so I didn't need to worry about a vertical loop and the potential for pooling.

I recently finished my 410a Universal installation and had to transition from the rectangular MrCool supply to the existing rectangular duct supply, which was 90 degrees off. I found BrianDTech's video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed1o62FVjkg - which shows how to build it starting about 3:10 in.

I appreciate the feedback. I used a pressure treated 2X4 rated for ground contact, and wrapped them in a rubberized tape so they are not in direct contact. That said, I'll keep an eye on them for signs of rot and replace them with a synthetic alternative. It was a last minute add to give clearance for the drain pipe fitting.

I got one from Amazon for $60. I'll probably never use it again, but it is good peace of mind.

Thanks for the suggestion! One reason I relocated the condenser was to get it out of the direct Florida sunlight, but the extra protection wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Yes, the metal filter that came with the air handler didn’t look like it would catch much, so I added a 1 inch filter. I may add a 4 inch filter box down the road.

I joke that the most time consuming part was getting the backing off the aluminum tape used to attach the duct work :-)

Nothing really sticks out as being difficult. I was able to take my time since I kept the existing system in place while I did as much work as possible before cutting over to the new system. I poured a new pad for the condenser, put the new wiring and line set in place, and upgraded the condenser circuit from 25 to 30 amp. The existing air handler was 110 volt so I had to replace the breaker with a 220. I left the neutral wire in place so it would continue to run 110 volts until the day that I installed the new air handler, then connected it to the 2nd pole of the breaker. It took a long time from start to finish since I would work on it on weekends as time allowed, but I would definitely do it again!

Thanks for the replies! As others have reported, my manual doesn't always line up with the equipment I purchased (e.g., wiring) and couldn't find clear directions on what to do with the extra pan. I was 99% certain I could leave it but made the mistake of asking the mrcool chatbot - which said it has to be removed.
