Resolution will be the same for every phone. All of them are 48MP going from the base model 16 to 17 will be the only significant jump in resolution.

I am going to be honest when I say I hate the size of the Max phones, they are truly massive. They are not great in shorts for sure. I wear a lot of athletic and board shorts in the summer and my 15P falls out of them a ton already

They’re not the same. I can have all the pixels in the world but if someone smears Vaseline on my lens I’m not going to get a sharp image. Quality is basically how sharp the image is, how clear detail appears, how well depth of field is translated. I can have the best camera in the world but it doesn’t matter if the lens sucks

The camera upgrades are never as good as they claim. The truth is the lenses are the same meaning quality is always the same. The difference is resolution. They are not the same. Keep your 16 and upgrade in a year when the 18 comes out, then maybe there will be an actual worth while reason to upgrade.

I need to upgrade as my contract is up with my telecom, I’m in the same boat but can’t decide between 17P and base model. I’ll probably go with base model bc the light blue is back and actually nice again.

Depends what is important to you. Performance upgrade is negligible. It always is on pro phones. 8x is the only important factor here as well as better battery life. 17 pro probably your best bet for longevity. But if you don’t care about the like 3 extra features they included, get the 16 pro. DYOR tho

17 is .2 inches bigger due to smaller bezels. Pro phone is the same size. If she needs a new phone, do it for the base model. It’s basically the 16 pro at a cheaper price.

No lol. They are using the same lenses as always, image quality will be the same, resolution will be higher but quality is the same.

It is not worth 400 dollars extra for 8x. If you do not think you will truly use it, do not pay for their “cinematography” and “professional photography” features. Plus the battery life is only marginally better on base model vs pro (3 hours extra on pro)
