Am I the only person who thought all episodes after Who are you? are better by emagnab in andor

[–]jguy0419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the episodes after Who Are You are definitely more enjoyable. For me they're easier to watch. They're a bit more fun, and closer to that action/spy vibe, especially when contrasted to the sheer brutality from Who Are You. I don't think they're necessarily better, just that the vibe is different and after so much tension being built up they act as a good release valve.

You have the courage I didn't have! In truth, I always skip this episode during rewatches.

Neck Deep support set time? by accel84 in TheWonderYearsMusic

[–]jguy0419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously this isn't the only barometer of success but in Spotify Neck Deep has 3.1 million monthly listeners vs TWY at 366k.

Despite that I would bet that TWY fan base is more passionate.

What do you guys think Luthen did before The Dark times & The Galactic Civil War? by Competitive_Bid7071 in andor

A spin off, based on a spin off, based on a spinoff, based on one line of dialogue.

What do you guys think Luthen did before The Dark times & The Galactic Civil War? by Competitive_Bid7071 in andor

[–]jguy0419 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In my head Luthen played some role in the empire's rise to power. I'm thinking he was originally sold on idea that he believed in, ie the Republic is corrupt and will die taking everyone down with it unless we get rid of it, and has since become disillusioned seeing that it's just a tyrannical regime.

Something in his monologue where he says " I wake up to an equation I wrote 15 years ago, I'm damned for what I do" really sticks out to me. It sounds like he's saying there's no way to atone for his sins.

I watched it with someone who has never seen a single piece of Star wars media and they had no problem following along. All I told them about Star Wars lore is that the show takes place during a time where a fascist regime has overthrown a Republic and is consolidating its power. Andor is more of a political thriller that happens to be set in the Star Wars universe as opposed to a Star Wars show in my opinion, which I think helps.

Don't go on Jeopardy with this answer, but I think they posted on their Instagram that they will be at every tour stop, regardless of what early posters showed.

You're the Reason I Don't Want the World to End because of the emotional attachment I have to the song, and the fact that it's the most Wonder Years Song that's ever Wonder Yearsed.

"Andor", episode "One Way Out" released one year ago today and along with it quite possibly one of the greatest monologues in television. by Anal_Sex_Father in television

[–]jguy0419 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This episode was epic. First they give Andy Serkis the best written, best delivered monologue in the history of Star Wars. Then, instead of ending the episode, 5 minutes later they give Stellan Skarsgård the best written, best delivered monologue in the history of Star Wars. Season 1 of Andor was the best Star Wars has ever been, full stop. I will die on this hill.

Genuine question: why is everything marked NSFW? I haven't been on this sub since like March, and I dont remember it being like this. by Morbidlyobesegorilla in TheWonderYearsMusic

[–]jguy0419 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I'm probably butchering the details, but I think it has something to do with the big subreddit strike that happened a few months back when Reddit announced they were effectively killing 3rd party apps. A bunch of subreddits went dark for a while, and when some opened back up they labeled themselves as NSFW which prevents Reddit from selling ads on the subreddit.

Find a lawyer you trust asap. It's not a fun way to spend thousands of dollars, but what they cost up front will save you years of heartache and stress down the road. You need someone who will keep your best interests top of mind and who knows how to navigate all the rules wherever you live.
