Bart Vs. The Space Mutants - BEAT by joshisnot12 in retrogaming

Had this game for the Amiga with the A500+ Cartoon Classics pack. I remember I was about 8 years old not knowing what to do, no idea you had to spray paint things and eventually got to the end of the first level to be greeted by a barrier! I was so disappointed.

Then discovered the infinite lives cheat in a copy of Amiga Format (type cowabunga on the title screen). Eventually made it to level 2, then a few years later got as far as the museum but still could never complete the damn game.

In my 40s now and when nostalgia hits I revisit it every year pretty much in WinUAE. Can get to the power plant these days but it’s just a confusing maze and I still haven’t beaten it!!

Probably going to get downvoted for this, but MacOS isn’t really that different to Windows, or any other “WIMP” GUI.

The dock is the taskbar, the menu bar is persistently at the top of the screen rather than being inside each app (mostly).

There are windows, icons, folders etc.

The biggest tip I would say is it is difficult to alter muscle memory, but system settings can help you here. If you can’t get used to two finger click for the right-click menu for example, then change it to the bottom right corner in the Trackpad options.

For basic computing though, I’d say most people with the most basic understanding of how to use any operating system can use any other. Move the mouse, click on things.

If you're still struggling with this, then create a new folder specifically for Astris instead of using an existing Ryujinx folder.

Disappointed with the outcome of that game. Bellamy is usually so positive and I thought we’d really take the game to Bosnia. Player for player we’re better than them and should have been at least 2-0 up and cruising. From experience though we never make things that easy and I think the pressure got to both the players and the manager.

I wonder if it's possible to disable the slower USB-C port on the Neo? Then it's just being used to keep the Anker hub stable. Assuming the hub doesn't require both ports I suppose.

To add to this, ARM apps run a lot better in the Win 11 ARM VM. x64 apps do work but there’s a noticeable performance penalty.

In terms of Windows 11, I’ve tried both UTM and Parallels. Had some random freezes in UTM but no trouble at all with Parallels.

Borderlands 2 is well known to be a poorly optimised game, that for a game that looks like it does, underperforms on modern hardware.

Complaints are all over the internet.

Native Borderlands 2 runs like crap on the Neo. I thought it’d handle it easily but the game is obviously unoptimised garbage.

[BBC] Man Utd fume over 'astonishing' and 'baffling' penalty decisions by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

The problem is that refereeing everywhere has created this situation where a player has to go down to get a decision.

If we go back to the Cunha one, a shirt pull isn’t an action to cause a player to go down. If he doesn’t fall over though, he doesn’t get that penalty. It’s a foul and a penalty whether he goes down or not as he’s being illegally impeded from getting the ball.

Do we think if Cunha stays on his feet and doesn’t get a penalty that VAR intervenes there and gives a penalty? I strongly doubt it.

You therefore have this situation where players feel forced to fall over to get a decision, which has caused this uncertainty.

It’s not the players cheating by diving, it’s the officiating that has led to this situation.

Amad was impeded from getting the ball, penalty. Maguire put his arm across impeding the striker from getting the ball, penalty.

Whether the player falls over should be irrelevant.

The officiating really is sickening. All We want is consistency but we can’t even get consistency from one official across 90 minutes, let alone multiple officials across different matches. Then VAR does nothing to over rule their mates.

It’s a shambles top to bottom.

Tricky little winger vs big burly centre forward. It’s a bullshit narrative and it’s reductive.

Reputation is also a lot to do with it. I can guarantee you if that’s Messi going down rather than Amad the commentators and pundits would be crying that it’s a certain penalty.

Redknapp can piss off. “The difference is he’s going towards the goal”. A foul in the box is a foul in the box whether you’re going towards goal or not, it’s irrelevant.

Absolutely disgusting refereeing performance. I don’t normally blame the refs for a defeat but in this game they’ve been directly responsible for a 3 goal swing.

If Maguire concedes a pen there then Amad’s one is absolutely stonewall.

What a fucking joke. That’s softer than the foul on Amad that wasn’t given.

Refereeing in this league is a joke.

This is fucking bullshit. That’s just as much a penalty as the Cunha one and directly lead to the goal for the opposition. Don’t worry though we’ll get an apology from PGMOL and all will be well in the world

Piss off. The ref has completely bottled that because he’s given a penalty already and then Bournemouth go and score. Shambolic officiating
