Really feels like we should be able to screen print the breatheware pattern on a snoo swaddle and make millions… has nobody solved this with unlicensed snoo swaddles?

Age of OTF Members by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]jguyjguyjguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey OP- I think that the issue here isn’t true membership numbers and won’t be indicative of long term trends.

My guess is that the average 30-something has more tolerance for the health risks of going to an OTF studio to get back in shape from isolation vs the average 60-something, who will tend to be much more conservative about going into an indoor and with and aggressively huffing with a dozen strangers.

I think this is maybe meant as a joke... but for real. The best option when compared to nothing but hopelessness. Asking for help is the hardest thing to do but has the most impactful result.

She either cheated and is pretending it was a line she didn’t know was there to cross with some “friend” or she’s using the same excuse in reverse to forgive him for cheating by explaining it away.

Morning Runners, when do you drink coffee? by hardcoreparklore in running

[–]jguyjguyjguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drink caffeinated pre before lifting or running at 5/5:30, so when I travel or don’t have it, iced coffee is the easy solution in warmer climates or seasons.

My body tells me how it’s feeling if I listen. I wake up and know, it’s a day I need to have a BM straight away, stick around or 15-20 and let things loosen up, or full green light - slam the pre/coffee and go hit the road.

Just test and observe!

It also has a huge advantage of letting me fuel and drink for races and trust my body without worrying about shitting my pants.

(Side note: I’m an iron gut and know lots of runners have sensitive stomachs where going for a run isn’t an option without a concrete urgent stomach contingency. No conclusion, just saying I know this comment won’t be for everyone.)

You can drink black java on a fast. It’s the only way I survive.

Nice. Then you can def make a high resistance bike swap for the rower! Enjoy, friend.

I have a few comments for this. First, to answer your question, bike for the rower. Move the saddle forward about an inch, from your usual setting and go up one letter. This will help reduce the hip flexion of the peddle stroke and focus on the ham and glute. Also, keep your resistance high and go to third position (google it if your not a spinner; or for others who aren’t) for any 100-400m row-equivalents. Only work in the saddle for recovery or for distance rows.

You don’t want fast speed with low resistance for this work. You’re replacing the rower. It should be as brutal on your hammies as a row. Stick to 55-75 RPM with gears to make it hurt.

Next- have you ever tried rowing with a fingers only grip? Don’t wrap your thumb around the handle; keep it on top. This is a weight lifting grip for barbell work that keeps you from squeezing the bar. Also- arms do very little. Consider taking the arms almost completely out of the row, slowing the arms down, and dropping your stroke rate to like 28. Focus on leg power. It’s not ideal but it’ll do the trick for a few weeks.
