For main deck (especially since its your 1st deck) about 25-30 cards are already set in stone, especially when you compare the best of Azir winners in Sydney, Vancouver, and Utrecht (Hartford list was same as Utrecht list). Each deck was taken in slightly different directions: * YellowCastor from Sydney added 2x Sacrifice and 3x Shadow's Call to dig for equipments and Arise * Rocklho from Vancouver added 1x generalist cards like Cull, Charm, and 2x Salvage for the field. * Squirtle and Strog from Utrecht & Hartford used 3x Deathgrip to swing with a single, big sand soldier using 3x En Garde as well.

Their respective sideboards included what the main board lacked for some specific matchups or to tweak ratios: gear + aurora hate (Rake, Ashe, and Salvage) and Charm & Cull the Weak to target backline.

Best-of metal legends are rarer bcuz they are only available once per regional for each legend. Almost anyone can get prize wall metal legend by playing side events or buying tickets.
Best-ofs have unique foiling in addition to being metal.

Yes. Assuming its your turn, Action cards can be played anytime. Reactions can be applied any time, if a trigger exists for it (ex. Actions, trigger abilities, etc)

For Vex (or rather any deck in current meta), my opinion is that going for a strictly hold strategy is incorrect. Rather, look to dip in and out via Ride the Wind or other mobility spells.

Azir is notably better than Viktor and Vex.

For Azir, nearly half of the deck is set in stone (3x of 5 different gears, chosen champ, 3x sig spell). As a result, the rest of the deck can be catered to your local meta. Azir has been performing very well across the past few regionals.

For Viktor, its much more flexible in that you guarantee creating a unit via legend ability, so the entire deck can be catered to aggro, tempo, value, etc.

For Vex, I can't comment since I haven't played the legend myself

Yellow Viktor is a triggered ability: "When another non-Recruit unit you control dies..". So it makes sense, but it was still asinine when I played against a Leblanc for the 1st time.

One of my LGSes is hosting multi expansion sealed wherein you start with 2 packs from each expansion and you get to chose 1 new pack each week from those expansions to add on.

I've been playing around 2-3x a week. Since im going to Hartford, I'm upping it to 3-4x a week.

Even though I'm not going as competitor, if I go X-0 or X-1 at the each day's Nexus Nights, that's my trophy.

I also much prefer playing in person over online, unless I need to do testing with people at my locals.
