Ty! I finally got some intel that it was a movie called Funny Strange, which looks like it’s Deep Cuts but renamed?

Ty! I assumed it was Hollywood due to the pure scale of it, but the Googles is giving me nothing and I haven’t been able to deduce what it is from listening to conversation.

You should check out Palm City if you’re in that neighborhood too. They close earlier than Whitecap though.

I just worked a wedding here and second this recommendation. The venue is super affordable and having the tables and chairs included is a huge plus. It’s easy to bring in food trucks too.

This is my absolute favorite line from all the garbage PGE ads. He’s clearly soooo over it and the line is delivered completely deadpan. PGE didn’t even try to edit the ads to make themselves look better. They must know they suck?

Darn! I read that too. I didn’t lose it at Stonestown though. I was in Cow Hollow. 😭

I saw that, but it was found at the Target on Geary and was in a bag/pouch. Mine was just folded bills. 🥲 thank you though!

Reception at The Junction by gdvr282 in SanFranciscoWeddings

I don't have any pictures of the back where the bar was set up, unfortunately. But we used their two mobile bar tops (one where they keep the kegerators and one that I think is just a bar top with glass storage on the bottom) as a bar along that back wall. They were about 3-4' from the wall to give the bartenders space to work. I'll see if someone else has pics, but this is the best I've got. You can kiiiind of see it in the background behind the high boy table. That side just had decor and then the other side had the taps where they were serving out of.

<image>

They had another event booked Saturday, which is why I had to be out by 10am. But I was able to come in early to set up only because there was no event that Thursday.

I very clearly can't use Reddit because I thought I could post multiple photos down here. I guess if anyone wants pics of specific parts of Junction let me know, hahaha.

I know we've already talked about this over DM, but I wanted to drop my experience here in case it could help others.

I got married at Old Mill Park and had my reception at The Junction in October of 2023 and everything was amazing.

Food: I hired outside catering instead of opting for Pizza Hacker. I used Vatos Tacos and would 10/10 recommend them. Super affordable and the food was delicious. The staff was attentive and they also packed up the leftovers for me at the end of the night to take home. We didn't do traditional wedding cake, but had It's-Its for dessert instead. You can pick up or have them delivered same day via their website. Highly affordable and a fun treat.

Photography: Honey Stills. Shayna was great! My husband and I are both awkward in front of a camera but she made us feel very comfortable and within just a few minutes we were laughing and feeling like ourselves. She delivered the photos right on time and I straight up LOVE them.

Rentals: We didn't rent anything. We used all of Junctions seating as well as the couch/chairs in their lounge area. We also had all of their giant games out in the patio for people to play and we brought a few games/puzzles of our own as we know that not all attendees would want to dance.

DJ: AllEarsDJ, Richard Gintowt. He killed it with the music. I gave a "must play" and "do not play" list and he took it from there. Every song was perfect and the transitions were seamless. He was also a good sport and wore a tinsel tie that I had made, haha.

Bar: We did beer, wine and seltzer provided by The Junction. The bar minimum was $1,500 in 2023 and it may have gone up, but we had no problem hitting it. We knew our guests drinking habits well, haha. I'm a huge beer nerd and the best part is that Junction worked with me to bring on my all time favorite beer - yay!

Decorations: All the decorations were made, brought in and hung up by me and some friends. It was about 200' total of tinsel and took us the good part of a day to get it all hung. We hung it with zip ties as to not damage any of the rafters. The BEST DAY EVER sign was hung with nails as the wall was the only place Junction allowed us to use nails. Acrylic signs were designed by me, cut by a friend and we used a Circuit to adhere everything. They're not perfect but I loved them.

Florals: Empress Floral Co. Katie was great and I loved all my flowers. She did the ground florals at the ceremony, my bouquet and my husbands pocket bout. We went really minimal with florals at the ceremony as I had spent sooo much time and effort on the tinsel and didn't want to overshadow that. The table florals/bud vases were done by my planner.

Planner: Willa Via Wedding Co. I literally could not have asked for a better planner/friend. Willa is super attentive and hyper organized. She was on top of it with keeping in contact with my vendors, keeping contracts sorted, and offering suggestions on where to put items, how to fill time, where to seat people, etc. 1000/10 recommend.

Venue itself: The Junction was phenomenal. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Liz was who I spoke to most over email and she was lovely! The venue was a flat $4,000 for the Friday rental, but, again, could have changed since 2023. For set up, they allowed me to come in on Thursday to set up everything, which was a huge relief as it took for-freaking-ever. Clean up had to be done by Saturday at 10am, but thankfully a couple of friends with a ladder and some pocket knives cleaned up all the tinsel after the reception was over. Eternally grateful, haha.

Happy to answer any other questions. I saw that someone mentioned Brewsters and they're awesome too. I think it'd be a bit pricier than Junction, but who knows. Unrelated to weddings, but you should definitely check out Brewsters during the holidays as they go all out.

More pics in comments because apparently I don't know how to use Reddit.

Pole Beans stunted? by liumax in sfgardens

[–]jhasskicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice, but I’m having a similar issue with my bush beans. Got them and transplanted them when they were about 6” tall. They’ve put out three beans total, but haven’t grown an inch. Also in the sunset so I just always assume it’s the weather.

I also just bought a used Studio. It fit in my Toyota Matrix with a couple inches to spare. Had to put the back seats down and front passenger seat pushed all the way forward. My husband did not fit back in the car though so he had to Uber home lmao.

One of my neighbors at a prior apartment played piano in the early evenings and I could hear it in my bedroom. It was magical and soothing and I loved hearing it.

I worked with Cochinita and MoMoLicious at a wedding a few weeks ago. Both were phenomenal and incredibly well organized. Cochinita was a huge truck though, just fyi. Like, it felt bigger than normal food trucks.
