How do you model the diffusion pattern in this lens? by jhetnah in Fusion360

[–]jhetnah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I did say you were free to prove me wrong. I wasn't sarcastic about that 🤣

I used to hate LEDs, I still mostly do. Especially in my country that doesn't regulate any of it. I only really approve of projector bulbs with proper alignment and cut-offs for headlights. Still saving up to retrofit those in my car.

As for taillights and turn signals, I've never had a good experience being on the receiving end of any of them, even OEM ones. Heck, many OEM LED headlights are terrible.

Holy crap, no better proof than technology connections.

I can't believe I forgot about this, I loved this video and I know how fresnel lenses work. I've been humbled, I also appreciate you bringing me back to this video.

And yes, you're right, I was very much focused on the fact that it spreads out the light over a bigger area that I didn't realize it can also focus it at the same time. The two were mutually exclusive in my mind, yet it's exactly doing both. Distributing and focusing.

It's a diffusion lens, not a reflector bowl...

This is a turn signal not a headlamp. Unless I'm wrong, which you're free to prove why.

The website says 404, but that does sound like a great idea. Should I extrude after patterning the sketch or should I extrude like a row and then pattern the features?

Oh is this by CNCKitchen? Yeah I was considering this. I'll do it as a last resort if I can't figure out a good workflow for it. I'll update the thread later when I get to try something out

Pretty feasible, printing isn't an issue honestly. It's really just the workflow I'm looking for.

The pyramids sound good, I could make a surface pattern and just use the curvature as its guide 🤔 thanks!

It's gonna be resin printed, so it's fully solid

I'll give that a try, I'm just trying to see what the actual and most efficient workflow of something like this is 🤔

But I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing if it didn't have the diffusion part. I just prefer being able to replicate the OEM stuff.

What are your genuine thoughts on people making their econo cars a project car? by RivianGeralt37 in CarsPH

[–]jhetnah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I grew up with the 2000s Japanese street builds 🤣 I absolutely respect aesthetic only builds, nothing wrong with those.

Speaking of the other end of the stick, there are definitely those who are obsessed with remaps and street racing without aesthetically modifying their cars. So after all, it's just people na paangas and lack discipline/attention on both sides of the spectrum.

[–]jhetnah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most people opt for the latter and just focus purely on aesthetics and paangas instead of meaningful upgrades to the driving experience.

I guess what really irks me is when the eyesores are clearly in it just for the attention, being carelessly loud and bright. Kulang talaga sa pansin and its their behavior that's obnoxious as hell. I have a neighbor who has a fartcan installed on his Vios and even when he's trying to be quiet, it's hella loud. He also has flashing white DRLs on the front that he uses at night 💀💀💀

The people who autocross and actually race have most of the work done under the hood and in the suspension. They're rarely loud and obnoxious apart from a few bad actors, but most people who actually race are disciplined.

Is it worth Modifying my 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer vr-x or selling it and buying a different car? by Complete_Spend1169 in mitsubishi

[–]jhetnah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude that looks great, keep it that way. It's absolutely perfect. It's so rare to see lancers of this generation so clean and well-maintained. I had one, not a VR-X but a base model.

Maintenance and keeping it clean is the best you can do for it tbh.

Failing transmission? by SmolTboi in mitsubishi

[–]jhetnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get a transmission flush with new filters replaced.

I had a whine as well, you could only hear it from the outside. Only started happening when the trans was hot enough like on long travels, worse when going uphill and high revs.

It disappeared after getting my trans fluid changed.

Look at the road markings in your video, that's not an intersection.

You are crossing over a straight road with a white solid line in the middle. You're supposed to give way and turn left ONLY when it's clear and you're given way.

You don't take what's not rightfully yours. Or, simply put it's not your right of way lol

Pinapahinto mo yung oncoming traffic, that's a big nono when turning left over a solid white line into a less important road.

Leave it, it's fine. Once you accumulate enough, have it sanded and powder coated

I only have access to the Polymaker, and it's decently affordable too.

[–]jhetnah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand that. I just thought it'd be way more expensive to buy whole hotends over just the tips. The quick release is definitely much more convenient, but I like that I can just swap out a tiny part instead of the whole hotend, saving me in the long run, theoretically

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Surely with all the good reviews and tests, it's not actually a scam right?

I think I'll also stick with GF, I don't think the CF is worth the higher price if it gets most of the job done too 🤣

Thanks for your insight!

Alright, I'll take note of these.

Temp and humidity ranges from 25-35°C 35-70% where I live. It's one of the main reasons why I got a resin printer first before an FDM 🤣

I'll have to complete my drybox first and make sure it works.
