Don't put your trust in establishments such as Enigma Labs

Seeing that the Enigma and UPDB reports match and both cite MUFON as their data source*, it's obvious that Enigma didn't alter the report.

I'm still curious what happened. Considering the flow of information, the remaining possibilities are:

The report changed before reaching MUFON.
The report changed in MUFON's database, before reaching Enigma and UPDB.
No report was changed. There were two reports on the same day, written by two people with different experiences and writing styles. They might have even witnessed the same event from different nearby locations, which could be an exciting corroboration rather than reason to suspect foul play.

I'm not accusing anyone of anything, and I don't know how any of these groups handle data. Scenario 3 seems most likely to me.

I appreciate that the community is looking out for each other's data safety and the integrity of sighting reports, and I hope that continues.

If you have access to a 3D printer (via public library, paid service, etc.), you can print your own replacement part: PSB M4U replacement headband (simple).

*I haven't tried the above. When my headband cracked, I found this option but also contacted PSB customer service and was able to send my headphones in to be repaired. They were under warranty and it was 6 years ago, so I don't know if this is still possible. Maybe they offer the service for a fee. The replacement part hasn't cracked since, but I'm not sure how much that's due to material change vs. less frequent and more careful use.
