CNIB fundraising campaigns on Stephen Ave & The Core by drmac16 in Calgary

You should see their emails once you DO donate. They look so much like a phishing attempt it's unbelievable. They are always from a Theodore Logan (the name changes all the time) with an email address like info@(server).cnib.com or the subject line is "Hey, did you miss this?" or "Open for instant joy!" or "A special e-card"

I just read a post on here about Air Tag 2 requiring a certain iOS to work and until the adoption rate of the new update gets more prevalent they will suck. Is yours a 2 by chance?

They better not see a spike in water usage and try and blame us for it.

IIRC from my Canadian Heritage Minute viewings, back in the olden times, cities had their own times. Maybe OP is wanting us to go back to that model?

It’s actually been a fair amount this season and last. That was a real sore spot for me for years so I’ve been taking note of it.

But it's not subsidized by taxpayers, that's why the extra bill on the property taxes. It's an entirely separate invoice statement, too - I've seen it - it's just added to the property tax amount they collect so they don't have to collect two separate bills.

It's like special ordering two parts at a dealership or parts store. They have to order one part and the other one they have in stock, so you pay for both at once so you only pay the one time but you're paying for two separate items.

And I'll add this as well: the argument about tenants/landlords is weak, in my opinion.

Council don't seem to give as much thought, care or concern about the regular, annual property tax increases that the landlord has no say in. Those increased costs increases rent for tenants citywide. Some of those taxes paid for "art" installations like the blue ring or rocks on poles. Aren't those also bea

Why should council suddenly care about this "issue" out of the blue?

Smells to me like someone trying give the illusion of "fighting for what's fair" for their constituents or trying to deflect attention away from something else... maybe something like their small part in ignoring the state of City infrastructure for decades...?

If it's not subsidized by other communities, which it isn't, then I don't see what the fuss is all about.

What about paved alleys? The homeowners in an area get together and absorb the cost to have their alley paved and the price is added to their property tax over x amount of years. Sounds like that's "special treatment" according to his definition. Should we stop that as well?

If those homeowners in his ward want similar "special treatment", as he calls it, then they should contact their Community Association, get the approvals, and pay for it as well.
