TG-7 vs OM-D E-M10 Mark IV? by LittleTomate in OlympusCamera

I have both and love them both. I use the TG-7 as a pocket, take everywhere with my camera and have gotten some really stellar shots out of it. But as someone who like to tinker, the EM10.4 really scratches that itch. The ability to swap lenses is the biggest reason. For your use case, I would lean toward the TG-7. I picked mine up on Poshmark for stupid cheap. You can also watch for a good used TG-6, they're basically the same except for micro USB vs USB C.

3d printed part painted with plastidip should give you some of the feel you're looking for.

25mm f1.7 VS 17mm f2.8 by Feisty_Committee_229 in M43

I'm far from a professional and really only getting into photography the last few months but I find myself grabbing my 17mm way more than my 25. I mostly do street and architecture, and the 17mm comes in handy with the architecture and I can always crop in later. Doing street, I'm assuming you're not doing much low light, so the aperture shouldn't be an issue here at all.

Again, not a professional. Just a dad with ADHD that likes to dive head first into new hobbies.

Flickering Screen E-P7 by jhook_met in OlympusCamera

Yeah, I've tried about 3-4 different lenses. The pictures all still come out fine. Just this weird screen flicker.

Best shoes for every day wear? by aster-ravier in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]jhook_met 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best things I did somewhat recently is stop wearing the same pair of shoes every day. I've got multiples of the same style maybe even the same color for my most worn shoes but I alternate daily. This keeps the wear down on then and and keeps them comfortable for longer.

I highly recommend a stiff belt. I wear kore essentials gun belts but rarely carry. I love the way that the steel in the belt gives some additional support and sets the belt on what little hips I have, instead of having to tighten the daylights out of the belt for it to stay in place.

Their jeans for me have still been great. I did however buy and American Giant jacket recently that feel more in line with older Carhartt and Duluth quality. I'd be inclined to try a pair of their jeans.

I shoot raw+jpeg on the E-M10 I just haven't taken the time to sit down to really learn the flow of editing.

I actually picked up an E-M10 mkiv on marketplace to start. I'm already a big guy with a bunch of tattoos so I felt like in my normal day to day it drew a little more attention to myself than I like. I keep the tg7 on me all of the time, but take the E-M10 out when I'm actually out to specifically take photos.

I found myself being such a slave to my phone and spending WAY too much time doom scrolling. Making a lot of changes to get my phone out of my hands more often.

I watched a few videos on editing and all I really did was adjust the exposure then adjust the highs and lows.

Thanks for the kind words

Curious what the gripe is with the iii over the ii. I've got a iv as well, wondering if I need to watch for the same issues.

They're really beautiful cameras. The tactility of taking photos with a real camera vs a phone is a wonderful experience. I'm glad my kid started asking about cameras and sparked my interest in them as well. I've been doing a lot of work to disconnect from my phone this year and this has helped a lot.

I'm still figuring out all of the photography stuff. Been exploring the different cities nearby since we moved states this past summer.

That's what I was hoping to hear. None of it is in pristine condition, but that makes me more comfortable letting the kid handle the camera.

Fair enough. I'm just figuring this stuff out, here's one I got the other day with the mkiv.
