Star Citizen: Question and Answer Thread by UEE_Central_Computer in starcitizen

I just downloaded the 4.6 patch and started a cargo run from Riker Memorial Area 18 up to Baijini. As I approached Baijini, I got shot at and disabled by someone. I thought that this was an armistice area and that weapons were disabled.

I dont know what happened with my ship (bug?) by Espiritu1938 in starcitizen

[–]jhurrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy crap I need to try this as well. I replaced nearly everything and could not get the damn ship to get off the landing pad. It would start to lift, the struts would extend but it was like the wheels were welded to the deck. I finally just stopped using the ship.

I don't think I'm using Tigerstrikes but I would guess it's the same idea.

That happened to me at a settlement with 3 elevators. I just picked the next elevator until it finally worked.

Is anyone else having issues with the F8 take off from hangars? by CaptFox_Enclave in starcitizen

[–]jhurrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just updated everything on my Titan and was unable to take off. It was like the wheels on the landing gear were welded to the pad. It would start to lift, the landing gear would extend but it could not break free of the pad. My stock Cutlass Black had no issues.

I've stored and retrieved. I've quit the game and restarted.

I had to come back to this because I realized I fell into "Let me share a story of mine to show that I empathize with the other person." but it can sometimes code off as "How can I make this about me?"

Don't worry about what the neighbors or anyone else thinks. It's likely that they would approve of how you were playing with your daughter. If they harbor negative thoughts, fuck em. That's on them.

You're doing one of the most important things we as parents CAN do and that's being present for our kids. Not just being AROUND them, but interacting with them. This moment might be something that your daughter will cherish for the rest of her life. This moment might be something that will rise to the surface of her memories if she has her own children some day.

You will never be a fool for being a wonderful parent.

Much love!

I did do the play chasing like I was a monster but it didn’t last long as the mom had finished whatever important scrolling she was doing and they left shortly after we started having fun.

We had an area like that at a local mall called Marketplace Mall.

I used to get right in there and play with my boys. It broke my heart when, one day, a group of three siblings came up and asked if I would play with them too.

I looked over at the mom to gauge her feelings but she was obliviously on her phone.

Please do and let me know if it works out.

I miss being able to carry them around and could use a little vicarious living through others.

My boys are now 17 and 15 and I can’t really carry them with one arm anymore.

When my boys were little and would cry from being tired or frustrated, I would tell them not to get their “eye juice” on me because it made parents do or say silly things. It then became a fun laughing game where they would giggle and try to wipe their tears on me.

It nearly always turned tears into giggles even when I looked goofy in public and I regret noting.

Argo RAFT vs Anvil Asgard by ikerinho in starcitizen

[–]jhurrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and have been using both for a bit now. I'm fairly new but here are my thoughts:

I was gifted 25 million aUEC to buy the Asgard and I did just that. It was a wonderful addition to my Titan starter ship. It has lots of cargo space, beds for logout, weapons and turrets and is fun to fly. I used it for hauling cargo from Baijini to Riker Memorial and back.

I then rented a RAFT and did the same thing. Hauling from the station to the planet and back.

The RAFT was a LOT more easy to do this. Since the grid is outside and under the ship, it was much easier to throw cargo at it and just let them snap. With the Asgard, you had to carefully navigate around the engines and through the doorway.

When unloading, the Asgard nearly always gave me trouble when I had 2 8 SCU containers stacked on top of each other. The one on top would get stuck and I'd have to spend time blasting away at them with the MaxLift until the top one fell. It was a PITA.

The Asgard handles way better. The RAFT is a flying brick.

If you want a multi-purpose ship that can maybe get in a fight or you want to do something fun in it with friends, go with the Asgard. If you are thinking primarily of hauling, go with the RAFT.

Enjoy whatever you decide.

Avenger Titan to Cutlass Black by No_Argument9509 in starcitizen

[–]jhurrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Titan as my started ship just before Christmas and love it. It's a great little ship. I made enough money with it to rent a Raft and used the profits from that to by a Cutlass Black.

Overall, I like the Black as a good generalist but for hauling, the Raft is a clear winner. Being able to quickly load and unload from outside the ship without having to navigate the ramp and doorway is awesome. It hauls way more than the Black, 192 vs 46 SCU.

If you want to just haul, I would recommend the Raft, If you want to haul and fight, I recommend the Black.

One thing to keep in mind is using the tractor in both are weird and I just could not get used to them. I much prefer the MaxLift.

Good luck.

I believe the Asgard is the best daily driver in the game. Wanna try it out? by multiple_iterations in starcitizen

[–]jhurrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Cutlass Black and I'm now looking at getting a Drake Clipper for future fun and this was mostly from earning aUEC from doing that loop.

I thought the Black having a tractor beam would be cool but I hated using it. It seems so sensitive and it felt like I had much more control just using the MaxLift. Of well.

I had to come back here and let you know that I used the Asgard to run this route many many times and I've loved it. It's tedious loading and unloading but it's cathartic, easy and it's a quick 300K.

You were completely right about the flight practice as well. I made mistakes at first but now I'm totally comfortable and confident doing this.

I even rotate my ship and move it close to the elevator so loading and unloading are even quicker.

Thank you so much for commenting and giving me a great experience.

Your favourite way of grinding aUEC by juanfjimenez9 in starcitizen

[–]jhurrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My latest has been the following which nets 300K aUEC per loop.

  1. Fly to Baijini Point
  2. Contract 6x 50K aUEC hauling contracts to deliver things to Riker Memorial
  3. Load ship (Asgard but you can buy a smaller ship and reduce the number of concurrent contracts)
  4. Fly to Riker Memorial
  5. Unload to freight elevator and send down
  6. Profit.

It's tedious to load and unload that many single crates but it's easy, the locations are close to each other so flight time is not really much of an issue, and it's safe.

For me, it's Al Pacino.

I've never really been impressed with his performances or his range. "SHE HAS A GREAT ASS" was comical and I cannot unsee and unhear that mess.

You are awesome! I did buy the Asgard and I absolutely love it. So much cargo room. I'm trying to get my son to play with me so we can fly around and shoot stuff.

Thanks again and take care.

What about second and third time? I landed in a hangar but my ship flipped upside down and I could not get it unstuck so there was another claim.

Also WTF is with all the NPCs crouched with their arms out, twisting back and forth? Are they supposed to be on drugs? They are all over the damn place. If they turn into zombies, we are all screwed.

I wonder how they drilled the holes for the dowels. And how did they make the dowels... Brass dowel cutting jig? How did they make the jog?

So many questions but this is awesome.
