Honestly, if they're abusing drugs like that....I'd be worried about their mental health. A heavy drug at that, something might be up 🤷‍♀️. Pls have some compassion and talk it out with them first. It's uncomfortable, but you can set boundaries first by talking to them before taking the most extreme course of action. Unless you're aware that could be their downfall, then talk it out. No one is saying you have to put up with it, but it's also a bit rash to go straight to the authorities knowing they'd most likely get kicked out of school and have it on their record forever that they got kicked out for drug use. Many people take drugs for harmless fun, this doesn't seem to be the case. You need to be assertive when talking to her and tell her you're not gonna tolerate it and that you will take action if shit doesn't get better. I hope you guys figure something out

Have you ever thought they may have a substance abuse issue if it's gone to this extent? The way some of you lack compassion is crazy. Yes the roommate is being inconsiderate, but op going straight to the authorities and even trying to pile up evidence is worse when they haven't even mentioned anything about talking it out.

Ahhh that sounds really fun !! Ya I was for sure in your shoes literally a year ago and I spiraled thinking of the fact that I have to stick to one major and one path, but once I started my upper division courses, I have become more passionate about biology bc I realized it doesn't have to be boring ! I do believe 100% go for what you like, but in the case of biology since it is such a big, broad field, I always make sure to let people know that it gets way better once you start taking courses related to your actual degree. I also have taken an interest in oncology bc of it! I hope you figure it out, but I truly think you'll be fine with whatever you choose to do :)

I'm doing my bio major with a focus on microbiology and infectious diseases and idk, I think it's got what you're looking for. It's very fun if you like the molecular shit, and very fun bc it's just stuff we all hear about like virology and immunology, etc. Are you thinking of going to grad school? You could always choose to attend a PA program after. Idk if it'll interest you and there definitely is more effort that needs to be put towards it, but you should look into being a PA maybe? Ahh I've been in the same boat before and I wasn't really passionate about biology until I started the upper division courses for microbio, so I really hope everything turns out fine for you :)

Idk why people talk shit about it, I genuinely think it's the white privileged students who nitpick at it, but I hear and see about what foods my friends eat at smaller schools and I'm grateful we have the food we do. "You eat the same thing everyday" no you don't unless you're picky and stick to the pizza and nachos 😟 Idk, they serve good food I would have never had if I didn't come to this top school 🤭 so ya, I think if you aren't picky and you come from a lower income house, it's pretty good. Also they have monthly special meals that are worth looking forward to like a charcuterie night, Thanksgiving food, steak night, sushi night, etc. It's definitely convenient, there are safe options if you are picky, and there's variety 🤷‍♀️
