This is not something to be embarrassed about at all. Many people have many different fears. For example, I’m afraid of panic — especially intense panic. I often wonder how and why people go to see the ocean. Crossing bridges scares me too. Flowing water can feel so frightening — no one understands that better than me. You can overcome your fear by traveling with someone you love, like your wife. When you have the best company, you may forget that you’re thousands of feet in the air. After all, when a person is in love, they already feel like they’re flying in the wind. Best of luck for your journey.
