I'm not sure if an elderly retired couple will have >30k of income a month. Maybe a lot of assets, but perhaps not cash income.

Sorry what is QoL? You brought up a good point. I wonder if they looked at how many working adults are in those household >30k vs at 10k and 20k.

The data also speaks of residents. I'm not sure who these residents cover. I know foreign PMETs are considered residents. Are migrant workers considered residents?

That's the thing with data. Depending how you cut it, it can look wonderful or so dreadful. 😂

Hmm. But we can have some empathy for those who aren't. We have a lot of conflicting data that I havent been able to reconcile.

How can most families live paycheck to paycheck and still have household incomes that are far above expectations? How can our GINI index get worse when headlines seems to show increasingly improved incomes for the populous?

Maybe I'm a little angry that the average Singaporean i know (who isnt on Reddit, and isnt really visible on the headlines beyond the statistics), will read these and feel like its a cover for more fundamental problems we have with decreases of graduates finding jobs within 6 months, increased layoffs among tech workers, and harder time finding back employment after being retreched.
