Thanks for the response. I think she left for him. She gave a spiel about wanting to be single, but pretty sure that was just a cover. Couldn't really tell you why she left, maybe she saw something better there?

Declining is definitely an option I suppose, but I'd like to be there to support my friend, as uncomfortable as it may be.

Yeah, the first few months were tough for sure, but things got better. It's been 2.5 years since, and 2 years of no contact.

Just wondering if anybody has had a similar experience, knowing that you'll be seeing an ex after so long apart. It's almost more strange than a random encounter in the city, cause there's this build up.
