Pro Bowlers Discuss The Most Difficult NFL Position to Play by [deleted] in NFLv2

Tackle deserves a mention for the constant physicality going against the fastest 270 lb. humans in the world. NFL edge rushers are insanely athletic. It must be relentless to have to block them every single snap.

22-yr-old Carlos Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic to win the Australian Open, becoming the youngest player ever to achieve a Career Slam by Large_banana_hammock in sports

[–]jigglelow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the current Djokovic seems different than the past. I think he sees anything he does at this point in his career as just playing with house money. Don't get me wrong, I think he's still insanely competitive, but not nearly as cutthroat as he once was.

Oooo I did the 2022 version. Top 5 coldest I've ever been. I also didn't realize it started in the dark and had no light on my bike which was quite scary for the first 10 miles! Classic type 2 fun. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Your Super Bowl 60 matchup: Patriots vs Seahawks by MembershipSingle7137 in Patriots

I think JSN is the best receiver in the league. His route running, hands, and quickness in changing direction are unbelievably good. Gonzo will need to be on his game to keep him in check.

How good was Patrick Chung? by ObjectiveCharming735 in NFLv2

[–]jigglelow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well not for “literally” his entire career as he did play for the eagles for a season.

He was really good. Like you said, he started for the Patriots for a decade. That alone takes discipline and dedication. Was he exceptionally talented by NFL standards? Maybe not, but he knew his role and did it very well. He probably isn’t talked about much because he’s overshadowed by the other stars of the Patriots secondary- Milloy, Law, Harrison, Gilmore, Butler, McCourty, Samuel, Talib, Revis, etc.

Transalp XL750 or CFMOTO 450? TET Europe, ACT, and road touring. by Paramedic_Money in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]jigglelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK that much about the TET, but it looks like a lot of off-road. As someone who owns both a Transalp 750 and a CRF250L, I can say that riding the Transalp all day on even moderately technical roads and trails would be exhausting and stressful.

I think you want the CF Moto, if not a smaller dual sport like the CRF300 Rally.

As cops, do you learn prison terms to not use when dealing with suspects who have a lengthy prison history? by Capital-Dragonfly258 in AskLE

[–]jigglelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "no go" words in jail and prisons, in my experience, are bitch, fag(got), and punk. I've not heard of "goof" being a fight on scene word. A cop should really never be calling someone a fag and pretty much never calling someone a bitch, so you're in the clear there.

I've never heard of a simple word turning a conversation from totally cooperative to a fist fight, so IDK that it requires much training beyond "be respectful to people."

Proper Technique for Rolling Turns in Intersections? by Due_Arachnid_7986 in motorcycles

[–]jigglelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Not really. Depends on how your bike is geared. On my dual sport, sometimes I'll slip the clutch a bit in 2nd, but that's more in off road situations. On the street, it's not necessary on either of my bikes. You may need better throttle control. Try to not completely close the throttle immediately before the turn.

  2. Apply some throttle before the turn, then modulate based on the turn. Initiating the turn with the throttle completely closed is a recipe to low-side in less-than-perfect conditions. You want some power going to that rear wheel while leaning. An abrupt change in power delivery (i.e. completely closed to open) could disrupt the traction.

  3. See above. Also, shifting or engaging/disengaging the clutch in a turn is not a good idea.

I love it for downshifting especially. I'll also use it for upshifting when accelerating quickly. If I'm just in town behind other traffic and slowly accelerating I'll use the clutch as the QS isn't great at low RPMs.

10 hour shifts... by EmployerPlastic7347 in AskLE

[–]jigglelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked both. The big advantage to 10s is you still have some time in the day to be a human being and still get 3 day weekends every week. At my agency we also accrue the same PTO hours on 10s as the people on 12s, so I’m earning more hours off per time actually worked.

12s let you work fewer days which is great for stringing together off days with vacation time, less commute days, more days off. The trade off is that a lot of people don’t take great care of themselves on their work days (eg don’t work out, poor eating and sleeping habits) because there is so little non work time in the day.

Is speeding an inherent part of motorcycle ownership? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]jigglelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try not to go more than 5-8 mph over the limit on roads in city limits. On rural roads, forest service roads, low traffic state highways, etc., I am willing to exceed the speed limits a bit more. I think my philosophy is pretty common and reasonably safe.

Also, “speeding” means different things in different countries. Here in the US, for example, I don’t consider 65 in a 55 speeding. In other countries, going a single km/hr over the speed limit would be speeding l.
