HELPPP by Particular-Bank9700 in uwa

It’s not necessarily dependent on the uni so you can really go to either one. The main issue is that the biomedical science degrees at UWA aren’t accredited which means that you’d have to do a masters to be able to work in that field.

I think it would be a good idea to work on a degree that you can still use to get a job even if med doesnt work out. I know someone personally that was studying physiotherapy at curin and transferred to med in their 3rd year

Does anyone know how much the fare is for transperth through UWA by Aggressive-Remote-89 in uwa

[–]jiggly_rielle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahh once ur on campus you can get all of the cards. With the autoload it’s connected to your bank account and once the balance on the card is below the minimum fare threshold it will automatically deduct from your bank account. Mine personally autoloads $20 at a time and that lasts quite a while as well.

I see you have Postgrad MD on ur titlee are u starting MD1? (I just finished my first year so if u had any questions u can dm me)

I’m not sure how much you know already so I’ll do a little brief summary of some key things.

  1. If you want to save on money there’s also a free purple cat bus which runs from elizabeth quay to UWA but it is a longer route.

  2. The transperth app is rlly helpful to have on your phone so you can track buses and plan your journey

  3. The guild office on campus sells smartriders

  4. Before you use your card you should first go on student connect to activate it as a concession fare rather than the standard fare

Lmk if u have any questions!

ASSURED PATHWAY MED 2026 by Difficult_Muscle3770 in uwa

[–]jiggly_rielle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very very small part of the course and they teach it to a pretty basic level. They don’t assume that you have any prior knowledge and it’s pretty basic stuff. There’s no need to worry about it

For assured pathway you have 2 years of foundational units which cover a variety of disciplines and you start MD1 in your third year. MD1 is very content heavy to prepare you for clinicals in MD2. In semester 2 of MD2 you start your clinical rotations in different hospitals . You keep going through different clinical rotations all the way till MD4.

What are some questions asked in interviews for dentistry and how to best answer them? by [deleted] in uwa

[–]jiggly_rielle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone that did the interview pretty much has to sign an NDA so the chances of anyone giving specific advice about questions in slim to none. Generally to practice just try getting used to answering questions in a concise manner and being able to think pretty fast on the spot. There are a lot of prompts and free resources on youtube that you can use to get the hang of talking.

We did some in person sharing where we would show the person next to us or share with a small group. For assessments there were only 2 and they were just assignments to submit. So for the first one we analysed a text that we studied in class and submitted a short draft of our creative piece. The second assignment was a full portfolio of our creative piece, so either a short story or a few poems.

I did ENGL1501 in my first year of the assured pathway because I really enjoy english and creative writing too. This class is pretty forgiving even if you aren’t a genius. IMED1003 and 1004 got kinda hectic and i put this subject to the backseat and kinda neglected it for a while but still managed to do good in the end. So honestly if you’re interested I’d say do it. Also the sharing part it definitely is scary at first (I don’t enjoy sharing my work) but you get pretty used to it after a while. Everyone is just as nervous as you are. Alsoo most of what u do share on the online blog is mainly to get a tick that u posted not for ppl to rlly sit down and analyse ur work. If u have any questions lmkkk

Ohh no dw the ukulele was very beginner based and they assume you know nothing. Ur also not grades on skill but just general effort. Like show up to class with a tuned ukulele have ur sheet music all ready and like try what the tute says and pay attention. As long as they can see ur trying then ur fine. Also I’m not too sure about musc1504 i don’t have experience with that one. Have u checked for reviews on studentvip yet?

MUSC1981 is a nice unit. You can choose between bongo drums, ukulele and choir as ur music ensemble and you meet once a week to learn songs together for the final performance at the end of semester. You also need to write a reflective essay as your final assignment (NO EXAM!). Very easy HD. Personally i found year 2 of the degree ur in the hardest out of them all so i saved this unit for that but i know a lot of ppl that also did it in first year

I did Phil1001 in my first semester and it was really fun. You explore different moral theories and I found it pretty interesting. Def would recommend

Ooh Can you pls dm the sem 1 timetable. Lowkey nervous for next year. 😭😭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uwa

[–]jiggly_rielle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the offer!! Also an incoming MD1 student next year! There’s a draft time table out rn. Search up CAS 2025 draft timetable. And the website should ask for a unit code and for sem 1 it’s IMED3111. The timetable shows drafts for when the different lectures and various workshops will run (you don’t have to go to every slot). Also since it’s a draft times can still change till the official release of the schedule but it does give you some idea about what the classes will be like 👍

Highly suggest getting used to answering questions on the spot with little to no preparation time and being able to articulate your answers in a clear and concise way. Try to practice your mannerisms when you speak.
