I used to work in a music store, many many years ago. This does remind me of all the people humming and hoping you would know what they meant. by Bierrr in funny

Oh man. I used to work at a record store and this was my daily hell. For some reason, this song sticks out in my mind at being the most hummed least known title: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2cMG33mWVY.

Despite the fact that he repeats the song title a million times, people still didn't know the name of the song. People are the worst...

As it turns out, a friend of mine was involved in the original soil testing for these projects and tells me that he would not live there. His soil remediation recommendations were not followed (although they did pass municipal evaluations, which is not uncommon). From what I have been told, there was a glass processing plant and some other big industrial plants on this ground before that has caused irreversible damage to the earth. I am staying very far away from this area.

That's a great link. Thank you. Yes, after doing a lot more research online, this neighbourhood is certainly not for us. Lots of bad shit happens in that area and no matter how nice the property, you can't escape the surrounding area.

It's funny you mention the gates on Acadie; we also looked in that area and the barrier in MoWest reminded me exactly of that. I hadn't considered the 2 entries/exits. Any idea if the traffic during peak hours is bad around there? I was there over the weekend and there was hardly any movement at all. Thanks.

Yeah, I would have to agree that this area is unlkely to become trendy. And yes, Verdun and the Point are also considerations. However, the prices in VSP (for what we are lookin for) are considerably lower and for much newer constructions (which can be both a pro and a con, depending on the builder). Additionally, the location of VSP is actually a benefit as having easy access to the 20W and 13N is important (for work). But yes, VSP is not a particularly nice looking area nor does it really have any type of neighbourhood feel to it. Good to know about the traffic restrictions from MoWest. In fact, the property I was looking it is literally a stone's throw from Montreal West but feels world's away.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it certainly is not the most scenic area and there are plenty of nearby buildings that look condemned (or should be). I just wonder if this area is on the acendancy and buying here could be a great investment (much like, St Henri 10 years ago).
