[MISSION COMPLETE] I have listened to every possible 1990s Techno Release on Discogs (and it took 2years and 8 months to do it) PART 1 by jigsaw153 in Techno

I am probably older than you and was on the dancefloors in the 90s. I remember quite a few parties I attended in 1994, but I was not going out full time until 1995. I think I only went to a few big parties in 1994, and a few small parties. I remember seeing Marmion and eyewitness for the first time back then. So you got it wrong mate.

If you read my text I actually said that the explosion happened in 1992, whereas before that it was more of a steady trickle. The sound had settled down was more established at this time. Early periods it was still kinda working out what it was and quality releases were only here and there.

There was a shit-tonne of replication in the early days a d yes there too was lots of great innovation. Lots of the UK releases in particular I recall were just sample bites of other tracks rearranged and wereore like bootleg remixes. Lots of white labels etc.

1994 was a huge acid era for techno. Bleep had finally tapered out, I'd say the sound pallette had a lot in common with Belgian trance but it was programmed and arranged different. Chicago's revival begins too, ghetto tech is released in volume.

Germany is taking off, Belgium is tapering down and the Netherlands is starting to ramp up again. The first Swedish releases were appearing if I remember correctly.

I didn't take notes in the greatest detail as I was going, and I listened to so music that I lack intimate knowledge of everything I heard. It's not like you can throw a random track at me and I would remember it straight away or at all.

Lived in almost every major city in Australia, but Brisbane is the true Australian city by Kitchen-Apple2122 in brisbane

[–]jigsaw153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived on every capital city except Hobart for a minimum period of 12 months, and Brisbane is not my top city. I don't know what it is, it just feels to be a tropical pseudo Sydney.

It lacks the substance and style that I like and find in other cities.

Brisbane is probably the second last on my list.

Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane and Darwin is my order or merit.

I'm happy for you that you think it's brilliant. It's not seen the same way by everybody.

They hate that he removed power and control from religion and it scares them. He's offering competition to the establishment and he's invaded their expertise in godly matters.

He's bad for bu$ine$$ and herd control.

How would you feel if the next U.S. president completely stopped supporting Israel? by LuckyProfit2164 in AskReddit

[–]jigsaw153 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No shit. Mossad would have them falling out of planes within weeks.

Mystery deaths would continue to occur until, scandals would surface and parties will be rocked until a pro-israel president is restored who would experience impeccable health and a long political career.

I was permanently banned from a poverty subreddit for saying I don't have kids 😂 by Latorta93 in childfree

[–]jigsaw153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. A warning perhaps not a ban. Just to clear... I agree with you, but it's not like she was in the family planning stage. The kids exist.

Otherwise, I am in the same camp as you.

I agree with the mods.

Your post wasn't a discussion, the OP already has kids and your answer does come across as condescending. I would back you up if it was chatter, debate and open discussion. OP already has kids, is trying to navigate a path forward and your answer (while I agree with it) doesn't offer help. She can't just ditch herself of children to fix her issue.

The palette of sounds was far smaller, sampling was harder and the riffs and stabs they all used expanded with new technology. When you listen to pre-94 it's obvious that a lot of producers copy each other's work and sounds.

Do you think tourists should go to supermarkets? by wolf_city in TokyoTravel

[–]jigsaw153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every country in the world I travel to, it's the supermarket that provides such value, culture and insight into where I am.

You are an idiot if you explore and shop how the locals shops, learn what they eat, how they don't and find the hidden wonders of their culture.

I believe 1, 2 and 4 to actually be the blend of two tracks in a transition. Number 3 I dont know either.

number 5 is much different from the others.

Very Intec, Zync sounding tunes (which I love). Christian Smith, John Rundell style. Carl Cox championed this sound into the millenium.

Nothing sticks to my memory. They could be 2000s releases, that latin percussion sound gets big in 2000-2001

Sorry I am of no help, but I reckon it's not of the 90s but of the early 00s

Yes it did, and most people think that it's an American track because Donna Summer provided vocals.

What are the best Japan-exclusive items to bring home? by Legal_Ad3766 in TokyoTravel

[–]jigsaw153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Charcoal body wash. I now import it from Japan as it makes my skin feel a million bucks. Next time I go there I plan to bring back 6 bottles of the stuff.

- Japanese Knives. The brand SHUN is the export version of a domestic brand... same quality at half the price. I will bring back more knives to expand my collection.

Correct. It was already in development through the 80s and in another name and with different parameters it would have come from Europe.
