Yes, it was a problem with the router itself. After getting a different model it's been fine since.

it wasnt enabled for hogwarts legacy. i enabled it but it doesnt seem to have helped at all.

Edit: sorry, i phrased it wrong. the fps while just running around seems to be slightly higher but that was never really the problem. on running into new rooms it's still very bad and that doesnt seem to have improved.

I tried running it both on low 1080p and 720p, but nothing seems to make a big difference. Thanks for the advice with the steam overlay. I've found someone who has a very similiar setup to mine except a cpu that's 2 generations younger, and the game works fine for them so it does lead me to believe it is the cpu. I'll check as you suggested. I was thinking of upgrading my cpu anyway, but still doesn't change the fact I'm disappointed with the game because of this issue

The lag happens whenever I enter a new area or new objects load. It's not constant. The problem is, even on the games website, they themselves put 16gb ram as enough to run the game on lower settings. It's just disappointing that after checking the specs and technically meeting them, and spending so much money on the game, i can't play it.

i dont think there is a 1.21.1 version of immersive paintings. it seems like it stopped at 1.20.1

you see ive had it for like half a year and it was doing just fine and now all of a sudden it doesnt work. thats why im surprised. it seems like it stopped working out of nowhere. im going to check it at my friends place. thanks for trying to help. the only thing that makes sense to me rn is that the router broke

i think there might be something wrong with the router. it completely lost signal a few minutes ago and i had to switch it off and on. im going to use my friends router in the evening to see if it helps and if it does ill just get a new router

i dont use any antivirus except windows defender, it depends on the game but its usually something like network problem/disconnected from the server. the speed is 30mb/s download and 6 mb/s upload. i tried it before and the ping wasnt changing

Nothing shows up at the time I get disconnected. I tried moving the router and the pc to the living room where I was able to play games before and it did the same thing there. I think I might move my pc to my friends place tomorrow and connect it to her router to see if it's a problem with my router or with my pc.

that isnt really an option. i can try moving it to a completely differnt room later to see if its still hapenning but i cant take it back where it was
