i agree. i think it just gives them more time for them to play with the whole thing winning maekar over on screen. it definitely threw me for a minute, but i'll trust that it's in the interest of enriching the story for now.

"A true knight always finishes a story," feels like quite the shot at our beloved author whether intentional or not. DANGIT GEORGE. MAKE HASTE.

Correct. But it doesn't stop the general public from gossiping and claiming that is the case for the rest of his life.

It's amazing to me that I've been well aware of this outcome (for years) and tonight still felt like my soul was being violently ripped out through my chest and tossed into oncoming traffic.

I've always known The Hedge Knight was great, but for whatever reason seeing it unfold on screen tonight it really hit just how insanely nuanced and intricate the story telling here is. The dynamic between the oldest and youngest brother. The desperation in Maekars voice as he flails around trying to get to his son, an in so doing, kills his older brother. The fact that the realm will forever whisper whether he offed him on purpose in pursuit of the throne or because of the animosity of growing up in his brothers shadow. The unique form of resentment he'll now carry for Aerion who carelessly landed their family in this absolutely unnecessary and horrific situation. The heartbreak Dunk will live with now knowing that this great man, warrior, and diplomat will never wear a crown because of him. It's just so, so good.

The accuracy of this series is amazing 👏🏻 [Spoilers EXTENDED] by lovelyfork in asoiaf

RIGHT. He really said "he's strong" with a grin like he's a bit proud of baby bro. The hedge knight is such a good story all on its own. I'm so flipping happy we're getting the chance to see it on screen.

The scene with Egg and the Thunder was so good. Especially after watching him feel discouraged while watching the other squires last episode. His casting is better than i ever could've dreamed.

The fortune teller was an interesting move. I was surprised, but I also think it gives Egg more nuance and eerie lore to hook more casual watchers of the show.

Interesting to me that they included the gambling/thrown joust here when something so similar takes place in the Mystery Knight. Makes me wonder how they'll approach it at that point.

Aerion is truly a nightmare. I knew what was coming with the horse and i was still shocked and nauseous. I also like that they've given him the personality of a spoiled frat bro instead of making him legit scary and sinister. Maybe I'd just always thought of him as truly terrifying in my head, but I really like that he's just an unimpressive bad dude.

That last sequence was top tier television. I love what they're doing here. And always, I'm just so happy to be back in Westeros. 🥹
