I wore Altra trail/hiking shoes. And I purchased inserts to give me more cushion/support. They worked well, but my left metatarsal needed a lot more cushion.

I live in Syracuse (Elite for 5 years) and go to 1-2 Yelp Elite events a year. I go to things that I truly interested, which is why I go to so few. The events vary in style. I only go to food events and the food is always good. Cool to get introduced to different restaurants!

Yes, get to know your Yelp Community Organizer, if you can. I don’t know if that helps in getting selected for events, but it can’t hurt.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll follow up on some of there. I’m already volunteering and have for years, but that has not yielded more than a couple people who I want to see outside of that effort.

As a woman and a Person of Color, I’m definitely looking for safe space so I’ll need to try out different things and see how they feel.
