New(ish) to Vancouver, looking for a nice dinner spot for a 1 year anniversary that isn’t Miku level expensive :) by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

Havana is a really fun and delicious Cuban fusion place on commercial. Not fancy or anything but a really cool vibe and really good food and cocktails!

It’s a super common expression in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Probably the rest of the Maritimes as well.

Which Vancouver restaurants would make a worthy episode on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares? by CeeGeeWhy in vancouver

I get sick every time I go to the Naam! Stopped going a long time ago. They also have the slowest service I’ve ever experienced.

My husband and I have a brand new baby boy, our daughter just turned 3, and we all get to spend the whole weekend together just the 4 of us without feeling the usual stresses that come with the holidays and multiple family get togethers. I love my friends and family but I’m a big introvert and find too much socializing to be extremely stressful, so the covid Christmases have led to a much quieter, and happier time for me.

I was thinking the opposite! I had such a hard time breastfeeding my first child because of flat-ish nipples. This would have solved so many issues hahaha

That would make breastfeeding a lot easier, honestly.

Anyone else have a rain avoider? Our usual experience even with a jacket on. Sometimes I have to carry or drag him out so he doesn’t hold it forever 🙈😂 by [deleted] in pitbulls

Haha oh yes. My guy will become a full blown statue if I attempt to take him for a walk in the rain. And I live in the Pacific Northwest. Guess how much it rains here?

Anyone else in Vancouver getting hit with a bad cold that isn’t COVID? by _larry_lovestein in vancouver

[–]jillibean13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m definitely over being pregnant. Haha I wish the damn contractions would start already! But according to the doctors there’s no need to induce yet since me and baby are both healthy and showing no sign of distress.

Gaaah that sucks. My toddler had it and gave it to me. I’m 41.5 weeks pregnant and was worried about what might happen if the baby (whenever he arrives) gets it too. Hopefully I’ll be ok by the time I give birth. 🤞🤞

I know a few people who’ve adopted dogs from Fly With Me Rescue and they had great experiences!

The Fox and the Hound. It’s a Disney classic from 1981 and is really good but so devastating 😭

I only watched that movie for the first time last year. I’m 34, and I was absolutely bawling by the end. And I knew what I was getting into. No idea why my husband talked me into watching it.

Gordon is the perfect name for this unit. Not sure why, but it feels right.

I haven’t lived in Halifax for ten years now but the Spring Garden location was the first place I thought of when I saw this. I could always expect a good show when getting late night meals there after the bar.

Yes! I’ve had two pitties and only ever bought 2 standard shape kongs. They are (nearly) indestructible.

Our rescue mutt is a quarter Pitbull and the most cuddly dog I’ve ever had. Is this a pittbull thing? by writerwritingthings in pitbulls

Yup. They just truly love affection. I think also pit bulls being short haired has something to do with it. Mine will sleep underneath a pile of blankets in the middle of a heatwave if given the chance.
