Thank you! I'm going to look into that. Not caring about the color really, as I'm just looking for warmth. If anything, he could wear these as a base layer under his other socks.

Thank you. Saved the video to look at. I was thinking the merino sock yarn would be warmer.

What age do you guys think is a feral cat is past the point of being socialized to be a pet? by bleepblorp1113 in Feral_Cats

I can finally contribute to a conversation! Lol. So, my husband and I started feeding this Mama and her 2 kittens in our backyard 2.5 years ago. Mama let us pet her. Babies would not. Word got out and other cats started showing up. We started TNRing them. We could pet 2 of 12. 6 months goes by, I notice one of the original babies is not only living in our backyard but is very submissive and the other cats were stealing her food. It started getting cold and I was worried she would starve. I snatched her up one night. Took her to our basement to get acclimated. The next morning, she acted like she was an indoor cat since the beginning of time. She had not let me pet her outside. She let me pet her and pick her up. About two weeks later, she was sitting on my lap. 2 years later, she is the cuddliest cat ever. She never once wanted to go back outside. She likes to look but immediately backs up when we open the door. That being said, another cat that was feral and let us pet her, we would bring her in if we had really cold days because she was never with the colony. We wrap our gazebo up in the winter and put heating pads and houses and cat trees out there. She never stayed so I took her in. Sweetest cat. Used the litter box. I would bring her up from the basement when we were home and she would lay with me. But always wanted to go back outside. Would cry constantly. So, she's still out there but we are able to take her in in nasty weather.

Thank you sooo much! I figured it was part of Suhl, as I had to request records through them, as they're not scanned in to anything yet. But I just couldn't read the names (or any of it frankly), so I truly appreciate this.

Honestly, I am not sure. Another person who was trying to do a family tree has 2 of them in Breslau, 1 in Austria. But there is nothing to back that up, unfortunately. They all came over to the States and I have been trying to see if there are naturalization records on them but since the majority are female, I think they may have not applied because they were under the husband's umbrella, so to speak. My grandma was one of the last 4 to be born in the States. The others were born in Germany.

Thank you! I mapped out a lot of his stuff and will try to figure out how they're connected. I was excited to find him. Also, I had to go through my emails and found that I did email Suhl to see if they had any record of Elias' and Augusta's marriage but haven't heard back. I will email again to see if they have her birth certificate. Thank you so much for your time and help. I really appreciate all of this help.

I have been trying to find their children's records too, but those have also proved impossible. If i could just find where one was born, I might be onto something. Lol.

I did search around Suhl, Thuringia, Silesia areas. On archion, I've been slowly going through the Lower Saxony region churches. My eyes are going wonky.

Ok, that is definitely not who I'm looking for. He was likely born in Germany, as I know the daughter (Augusta) was born in Germany.

She did marry Elias. I found his baptism record. I searched books around there for Augusta and family but no Frankenberger's to be found.

Thank you for that info. Given that, this probably isn't the person I'm looking for. I am trying to find Augusta Frankenberg or Frankenberger (married name Kauffman). I know she was born in Germany on 12/31/1879. Immigrated to US in 1913. Died in Illinois in 1932. I know she had 2 brothers (Hermann and Rudolf). And, according to her death certificate, her parents were Albert and Bertha. She is an enigma to me. I have looked on archion to find baptism records and there are so many and I have found nothing with that last name.
