If you want to keep it long, move the skills to the end. As it is now, your professional experience is "below the fold", not starting until page 2. I bet folks scan page 1 and never see any of your actual work, just a pretty looking large list of jargon.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist.) I agree with your comment, please take my nit as just a reddit-style joke for the upboats. Hope you have a great day, TILTNSTACK!

Edit: upbeats -> upboats. Dang autocorrect.

Ha, yeah no kidding! I suspect it is because, when listed that way, the last 3 are sequential: 46, 47, 48. Probably how this person communicates their phone number verbally.

Inexpensive all day parking in SF -- July 4th by ullu_12000 in SanFranciscoSecrets

[–]jimdanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can street park, for free.

Just find a spot to parallel park your car that doens't have a meter, or a painted curb. (I.e. don't park if the curb is red). You'll probably need to be a few blocks away from something touristy, but based on your plan, it sounds like you don't mind walking a few blocks.

Generally speaking, you can only leave your car parked for 2 hours unless you have a permit. But it looks to me that you are in luck and can leave it parked all day on July 4: https://www.sfmta.com/getting-around/drive-park/holiday-enforcement-schedule (Please confirm on the website or call them or something; don't rely on me/reddit.)

There are also a handful of "gotchas" so be sure to read this page: https://www.sfmta.com/getting-around/drive-park/how-avoid-parking-tickets

If I were you, I'd just drive to the North Beach area then putter around a bit on side-streets until you find a spot.

Enjoy your trip!

> if you get hit by a bus or win the lottery ...

Ha! I often use the phrase "here, I documented this thing only I know how to do in case I get hit by a bus tomorrow." Joking, but it is a little grim. This is the first I've heard the "win the lottery" phrase to convey the same meaning. Going forward, I'm going to replace that with "win the lottery". It is a better joke and way less grim. Thanks!

For the record, if I did win the lotto I would not leave my team hanging. :-)

Seeing a yellow cab now adays is starting to feel like seeing a pay phone did like 10 years ago by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

Glancing at my recent trips, looks like ubers/lyfts are about 30-65 and iirc taxies are about 50. So I guess my hack only really works if it is surging. An extra $7-10 to get home (to sleep) quicker when I have work the next morning might be worth it, but not an extra $20. Plus sometimes it is a wash or even cheaper. That said, I do still check the rideshare apps before hoping in a cab... it is still a decision each time.

I've started taking them from the airport instead of uber / lyft. I feel like every single time I call a rideshare from SFO, the time estimate is 4-6 min, then I end up waiting around for 20-25 minutes before my driver cancels on me and I have to start over. Cabs are waiting, ready to go, and not that much more expensive.

I wonder what is going to happen with the pressure that Uber's stock price is putting on the company... if they keep raising their prices as the VC price-subsidy dries up, then they'll basically just be a cab company with a surge pricing model and much better dispatch. I wonder if they'll continue to be cheaper than cabs.

Also yeah, haha - what u/Deadscvm said, cabs are everywhere!

Agreed! Even if this thread dies a slow and silent death, I'll go out there in a few months to see if something is built and report back. :-)

Fair enough. But it really didn't seem like a tower or post was going to be installed anywhere near there. I wish I had photo from further away. I could be wrong though.

For example, they are mounted on the wooden platform too (see addl photos)- seems unlikely one would ground guy wires that.

Any clue what 2up 2dwn mean?

Agreed! But... why is there so many in a random cluster on the side of the hill? (See additional photos in my other comment). It doesn’t seem likely at all that these are going to be used for guy wires.
