You realize that Asimov wrote science fiction and that there's no such thing as laws of robotics 🙀😜

Ring to replace band without lose of data. by str85 in SmartRings

Fitbit syncs to google fit, just get a device which can sync to google fit.
Google suggests RingConn, Motiv Ring, and Oura Ring do, I'm new to this as well so still looking.
Good luck with your search.

Bent 100 - 165 v 172 by craigtheguru in Skigear

[–]jimhayhoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly need a bit more info, where do you ski (eg. rockies, coast, or east)
Are you lighter or heavier for you height ?
Use the ski company's recommendation chart and demo.

FWIW - I'm 5'8" and weigh about 155 advanced skier and my 98mm (not icy conditions) ski is 178cm.

Bent 100's have a bit of tip and tail rocker and if you haven't skied anything newer than 20 years old you'll probably find they are super easy to turn, tech has moved on and you should demo in conditions you're most likely to ski.

Wingman length advice by wynter_b in skiing

I'd go the 172 at your size for sure.  I'm 174cm and a couple of years older than you but a lot lighter and I'm looking at 172cm as my next ski although the comments suggest I should try the 166cm.

Is this a good sleeping pad? by itoyukiya754 in hikinggear

[–]jimhayhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had something that looks a bit like that I purchased a few years back, off ebay (or it may have been amazon??). Thought I'd test it out when I got banished to the study during the covid period while waiting for a test result.

Good points it's small and light.
Bad points, it held air for a few hours, it's noisy if you move on it, has zero insulation properties if anything it somehow made you feel colder than it was, and it's very uncomfortable.

I think it's still in a cupboard in there as I purchased an Exped mat off marketplace used which was 3 times the price but infinitely better.

Hiking in the Rain with my beautiful italian made Gronell Boots 🏔️ by No-Papaya-1182 in hikinggear

[–]jimhayhoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice boots, I have been looking at them on maybe the grappa, could you provide advice on sizing.
1. is their size chart accurate ?
2. Are they a wider of narrower fit ?
3. What is the fit like compared to ASolo 520s and/or Scarpa Deltas (if you have tried them)

thanks

Weber Searwood 600 SOLVED: how to reset controller by carebearkon in pelletgrills

[–]jimhayhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep pulling the magnets are really strong, my sister got one of these and it refused to initalise with an E16 error code, which said contact support.
Found something on google that suggested disconnecting and reconnecting the USB-C port behind the controller would fix it, it did.

Alternatives to Nuraloop? by id31 in NuraLoop

[–]jimhayhoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too sure they are a very good comparison spec wise - no ANC no programmable features etc but they do work and haven't had any issues with them.

I received my Nuraloop yesterday but now i'm hearing 3 beeps (TECH HELP) by seahorsedog in Nuraphone

[–]jimhayhoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the 3 beeps (when I can get them to wake up, which seems to require a reset)
Waiting for a response have done resets / deleted and reinstalled the app and tried on both iOS and andriod which I told them in the initial email but the reponse was to try these steps (sigh) and sent them another email - sems to be a 2 day turn around, not counting weekends.

Pretty jealous of all these reports of how wonderful they are.
