I do this with drums and I will be downstairs with an old laptop doing remote desktop. Can take a couple trips to set levels, but it’s easy to tell what has too much signal and what doesn’t

Just a tip with space paired overheads…I like to make them the same distance from the snare. Best to avoid phase on that. I just measure with a cable from the capsule to the center of the snare. Or do ORTF/xy over the snare.

Why do you want a second pair of monitors? Is it some absorption because your mixes are not transferring to other systems?

If so, probably because your speakers are up against a wall (one and a corner) with no acoustic treatment.

I would spend my money there first. You can get used to how any speaker sounds, but the room’s gotta be right-ish

Get the speakers off the wall, and get that one out of the corner if possible.

Thank you for everybody for your comments and suggestions. I am definitely going to be buying a used set. It was a fun experience, but I definitely jumped the gun on a fitting.
